This market will resolve to "Up" if the close price is greater than or equal to the open price for the ETH/USDT 1 hour candle that begins on the time and date specified in the title. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "Down". The resolution source for this market is information from Binance, specifically the ETH/USDT pair (https://www.binance.com/en/trade/ETH_USDT). The close « C » and open « O » displayed at the top of the graph for the relevant "1H" candle will be used once the data for that candle is finalized. Please note that this market is about the price according to Binance ETH/USDT, not according to other exchanges or trading pairs.
Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect traders' collective belief about Ethereum's direction by June 5, 1AM ET, and often diverge from current spot price momentum. While spot markets react to immediate news and technical levels, prediction markets price in longer-term conviction and tail risks. Comparing Polymarket odds to analyst forecasts and on-chain sentiment indicators can reveal whether the market is pricing in volatility, regulatory developments, or macroeconomic shifts that spot traders may not yet fully reflect.
On Polymarket, the Ethereum Up or Down - June 5, 1AM ET contract is priced as a binary outcome pair, with each side trading against an automated market maker. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The odds update continuously as traders buy and sell shares, with the price of each outcome reflecting the cumulative probability assigned by the market. Liquidity and order-book depth on Polymarket determine how quickly large trades move the odds, and the spread between bid and ask prices reflects market uncertainty around the June 5 snapshot.
Key catalysts for Ethereum's price direction include major protocol upgrades, regulatory announcements from the SEC or international bodies, macroeconomic shifts in risk appetite, Bitcoin momentum, and large on-chain transactions or staking changes. Technical levels and support or resistance zones can also trigger sharp moves. Market-wide events such as Fed policy decisions, traditional market volatility, or developments in competing blockchains may influence trader positioning. Monitor Ethereum development updates and broader crypto sentiment closely as June 5 approaches.
