This market will resolve to "Up" if the close price is greater than or equal to the open price for the ETH/USDT 1 hour candle that begins on the time and date specified in the title. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "Down". The resolution source for this market is information from Binance, specifically the ETH/USDT pair (https://www.binance.com/en/trade/ETH_USDT). The close « C » and open « O » displayed at the top of the graph for the relevant "1H" candle will be used once the data for that candle is finalized. Please note that this market is about the price according to Binance ETH/USDT, not according to other exchanges or trading pairs.
Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect trader consensus on Ethereum's direction, while spot price expectations derive from technical analysis, on-chain metrics, and analyst forecasts. Prediction markets often price in tail risks and longer-term conviction that spot traders may not fully capture. Comparing Polymarket odds to analyst price targets and social sentiment can reveal whether the market is pricing in bullish or bearish catalysts more aggressively than traditional market participants expect by the June 5, 12AM ET deadline.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, this event is priced as a binary contract where traders buy and sell shares representing "Ethereum Up" or "Ethereum Down" outcomes. The price of each share reflects the market's implied probability, ranging from 0 to 1 (or 0% to 100%). As traders place orders and liquidity pools adjust, prices shift in real time. The current odds reflect aggregate trader positioning on whether Ethereum will be higher or lower at the June 5, 12AM ET snapshot, with volume and depth indicating conviction strength.
The market resolves at Jun 5, 2026. At that moment, Ethereum's price will be assessed to determine whether it closed higher or lower relative to the opening reference price established at market creation. Resolution occurs automatically once the snapshot time passes and price data is finalized. Traders holding winning shares receive their payout, while losing positions expire worthless. The exact price source and settlement methodology are specified in the market's terms.
Major catalysts include Federal Reserve policy announcements, Bitcoin price movements, Ethereum network upgrades or security incidents, macroeconomic data releases, and regulatory developments affecting crypto markets. On-chain metrics such as whale accumulation, staking changes, and exchange inflows can signal directional intent. Market-wide sentiment shifts, options expiry clustering, and derivative liquidation cascades may also trigger sharp price swings. Technical support and resistance levels will be closely watched as traders position ahead of the June 5, 12AM ET resolution window.
