This market will resolve to "Up" if the Ethereum price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than or equal to the price at the beginning of that range. Otherwise, it will resolve to "Down". The resolution source for this market is information from Chainlink, specifically the ETH/USD data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/eth-usd. Please note that this market is about the price according to Chainlink data stream ETH/USD, not according to other sources or spot markets.
Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect trader conviction about Ethereum's directional move during that specific four-hour window, which may differ from broader spot price sentiment. While crypto analysts and on-chain data providers offer longer-term price forecasts, prediction markets isolate a discrete time window and force binary resolution. Comparing the market's implied probability to analyst consensus or historical volatility patterns during similar market conditions can reveal whether traders are pricing in elevated risk or unusual calm for that particular evening.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, this event is priced as a binary outcome contract where traders buy or sell shares representing either an up or down move. The current market probability reflects the collective bets of all participants. Prices adjust continuously as new orders flow in, with the spread between bid and ask widening or tightening based on liquidity and conviction. Traders can enter or exit positions at any time before the market closes, and the final settlement price is determined by the actual Ethereum price movement during the June 4th, 8:00PM-12:00AM ET window.
The market resolves at Jun 5, 2026. The outcome is determined by Ethereum's price action during the specified four-hour window on June 4th, 8:00PM-12:00AM ET. Resolution depends on whether the closing price at the end of that window is higher or lower than the opening price at the start. Once the window closes, the market locks and settlement occurs based on the final price data.
Several catalysts could influence Ethereum's direction during that four-hour window. Major regulatory announcements, Federal Reserve statements, or macroeconomic data releases on June 4th could trigger volatility. Ethereum-specific news such as network upgrades, large exchange flows, or institutional activity may also shift sentiment. Bitcoin price movements often correlate with Ethereum, so BTC momentum during that evening matters. Additionally, options expiry, liquidation cascades, or sudden shifts in DeFi protocol activity could create sharp directional pressure. Real-time social media sentiment and derivatives funding rates may signal trader positioning changes.
