Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the Ethereum price movement market dashboard displays real-time odds for whether ETH will trade up or down by the 9 PM ET deadline on June 29. Traders can monitor the current probability assigned to each outcome, review historical price movements within the market, and track 24-hour trading activity. The dashboard provides a transparent view of how market participants are pricing the direction of Ethereum's price action, updated continuously as new trades execute. This gives you a live snapshot of consensus expectations around the short_topic at any moment.

Prediction market odds reflect what traders collectively believe will happen, whereas spot price expectations are based on current market valuations and technical analysis. This market aggregates the views of many participants betting real capital on the outcome, which often incorporates forward-looking sentiment and catalysts that spot prices alone may not fully price in. Comparing the odds here to analyst forecasts or on-chain metrics can reveal whether the market is pricing in optimism or caution relative to broader sentiment. The two perspectives—market odds versus spot expectations—often diverge when new information emerges or when sentiment shifts.

On Polymarket, traders set the odds by buying and selling shares representing each outcome, with the price of each share reflecting its implied probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more capital flows into the "up" or "down" outcome, the price adjusts automatically to balance supply and demand. The current odds shown on the dashboard represent the last executed trade price, and you can place orders at any price level you believe is mispriced. This continuous auction mechanism ensures the market price converges toward the true probability as new information arrives.

This market resolves around Jun 30, 2026, once the event window closes and the price movement can be verified. The outcome is determined by whether Ethereum's price moved up or down during the specified period, confirmed against credible public sources such as major exchange data or price feeds. Once the event is verifiable and the resolution is finalized, traders' positions settle according to the correct outcome. All open positions are then closed and profits or losses are distributed to traders' accounts.

Major catalysts for this market include regulatory announcements, macroeconomic data releases, Bitcoin price movements, and significant on-chain activity or network upgrades. Unexpected news from major exchanges, changes in institutional adoption, or shifts in broader crypto sentiment can rapidly shift trader expectations and move the odds. Technical levels and support/resistance zones may also trigger algorithmic trading or liquidations that influence price direction. Monitoring news feeds, on-chain metrics, and correlation with traditional markets will help you anticipate potential moves before resolution.
