Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the Ethereum price movement market dashboard displays real-time odds for whether ETH will trade up or down by the 3 PM ET deadline on Jun 28, 2026. The interface shows the current probability assigned to each outcome, historical price movement within the market, and trading activity. Traders use this data to monitor sentiment shifts and position themselves ahead of the event window. The dashboard reflects live order-book dynamics, allowing participants to track how community conviction evolves as new information emerges or market conditions shift.

Prediction market odds often diverge from spot price expectations because they incorporate forward-looking sentiment and tail-risk premiums that spot markets may not fully price in. While a spot exchange shows the current ETH price, this market aggregates trader beliefs about directional movement within a specific time window. Analysts and on-chain observers may hold different views than the consensus reflected here, creating opportunities for informed traders. The odds serve as a real-time gauge of crowd conviction distinct from technical analysis or fundamental valuations alone.

On Polymarket, traders set the odds through an automated market maker that adjusts prices based on buy and sell volume. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome—Ethereum Up or Down—is represented as a separate contract, and the combined probability of both outcomes equals 100 percent. As traders place orders, the price of each contract shifts to reflect new demand, creating a continuous price discovery mechanism. This design incentivizes arbitrage and ensures that market prices remain responsive to new information and shifting expectations about the event.

This market resolves around Jun 28, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The winning outcome is determined by whether Ethereum's price has moved up or down relative to the opening level at the specified time. Traders holding the correct outcome receive their share of the pool, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the event window closing, once price data is finalized and verified.

Major catalysts include regulatory announcements, macroeconomic data releases, and shifts in Bitcoin sentiment, since ETH often correlates with broader crypto market moves. Layer 2 adoption milestones, Ethereum network upgrades, or changes in staking yields can also influence trader positioning. Geopolitical events, central bank communications, and large on-chain transactions may trigger volatility. Technical levels and options expiry dates on spot exchanges can create momentum shifts. Real-time social sentiment and whale wallet activity often precede price moves, giving early traders an edge in adjusting their positions before the deadline.
