Frequently asked questions

The Ethereum price direction market dashboard on Predict tracks real-time odds and trading activity for whether ETH moves up or down by the June 25 deadline. Traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome, and the current market price reflects the collective probability estimate. The dashboard displays live odds, historical price movement, and $636 in recent trading volume, giving you a snapshot of how the market is pricing Ethereum's near-term directional move.

Prediction market odds often diverge from spot price momentum because they embed longer-term sentiment and tail-risk hedging. While a short-term price spike might suggest upward momentum, traders in this market may price in profit-taking, regulatory headwinds, or macro uncertainty over the full window to resolution. Comparing the odds here to analyst forecasts and on-chain metrics can reveal whether the market is pricing in information that spot traders have not yet fully reflected.

On Predict, traders set the odds by buying and selling outcome shares in a continuous order-book model. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects supply and demand; as more traders bet on up or down, the odds shift in real time. This mechanism ensures that the market price converges toward the true probability as new information arrives and traders adjust their positions.

This market resolves around Jun 25, 2026, at which point the outcome is confirmed against credible public sources. The result hinges on whether Ethereum's price has moved up or down from the current level at the time of market close. Once the event is verifiable from established market data, the winning outcome is locked in and traders are settled accordingly.

Major catalysts include Ethereum network upgrades, changes in regulatory stance toward crypto, macroeconomic shifts affecting risk appetite, and Bitcoin price action—since ETH often correlates with BTC. Staking yield changes, DeFi protocol developments, and large institutional flows can also shift trader sentiment. Technical levels and options expiry dates may trigger volatility spikes, while broader market stress or rallies in equities and bonds will influence how traders price directional risk over the coming weeks.
