Frequently asked questions

The Ethereum price movement market dashboard on Predict tracks real-time odds and trading activity for the Ethereum price movement market, showing whether ETH will close above or below a specified level by the resolution date. The interface displays current implied probabilities, historical price charts, and 24-hour volume of $1,090 to help traders monitor sentiment and liquidity. This snapshot reflects how the prediction community is pricing Ethereum's near-term direction, updated continuously as new trades execute on the platform.

Prediction market odds on this market often diverge from spot exchange prices because they reflect forward-looking consensus rather than current valuations. While spot markets price Ethereum based on immediate supply and demand, prediction markets embed trader expectations about where the price will settle by resolution. These odds can serve as a contrarian signal to traditional technical analysis or analyst forecasts, especially when the implied probability significantly exceeds or falls short of consensus expectations from financial media and on-chain metrics.

On Predict, this market is priced through an order-book or automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the cumulative bets placed, with the implied probability derived from the ratio of capital allocated to each side. As traders enter positions ahead of the resolution date, the odds shift to balance supply and demand, ensuring the market continuously reprices based on new information and sentiment.

This market resolves around Jun 24, 2026, at which point the outcome is confirmed once Ethereum's price movement is verifiable from credible public sources. The resolution hinges on whether the price closes above or below the specified threshold at the designated time. Traders holding the winning outcome receive their payout, while losing positions expire worthless. The exact settlement is determined by reference to established price feeds and market data available at the resolution timestamp.

Major catalysts for this market include Ethereum network upgrades, regulatory announcements affecting crypto assets, macroeconomic shifts in risk sentiment, and Bitcoin price movements, which often correlate with altcoin direction. Large institutional trades, changes in staking yields, and developments in decentralized finance protocols can also shift trader expectations. Additionally, broader market events such as Federal Reserve policy decisions or geopolitical tensions may trigger volatility that reshapes the implied probability before the market closes.
