This event group tracks whether Ethereum's price moves up or down during a specific 4-hour window on June 16, 2026 (12:00 AM–4:00 AM ET). However, the two platforms use fundamentally different data sources and comparison methodologies: Predict compares two specific 1-minute candle closes 24 hours apart on Binance, while Polymarket compares the price at the end of the 4-hour range against the price at the beginning using Chainlink's ETH/USD oracle.
This market will resolve to "Up" if the Ethereum price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than or equal to the price at the beginning of that range. Otherwise, it will resolve to "Down". The resolution source for this market is information from Chainlink, specifically the ETH/USD data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/eth-usd. Please note that this market is about the price according to Chainlink data stream ETH/USD, not according to other sources or spot markets.
This market will resolve to "Up" if the "Close" price for the Binance 1 minute candle for ETH/USDT Jun 15 '26 12:00 in the ET timezone (noon) is lower than the final "Close" price for the Jun 16 '26 12:00 ET candle. This market will resolve to "Down" if the "Close" price for the Binance 1 minute candle for ETH/USDT Jun 15 '26 12:00 in the ET timezone (noon) is higher than the final "Close" price for the Jun 16 '26 12:00 ET candle. If the final "Close" price for both of these candles is exactly equal on Binance, this market will resolve 50-50. The resolution source for this market is Binance, specifically the ETH/USDT "Close" prices currently available at https://www.binance.com/en/trade/ETH_USDT with "1m" and "Candles" selected on the top bar. Please note that this market is about the price according to Binance ETH/USDT, not according to other exchanges or trading pairs.
Polymarket and Predict operate distinct order books and user bases, so identical events can trade at different odds across venues. Polymarket and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Factors include liquidity depth, fee structures, user demographics, and timing of large trades. One platform may attract more bullish traders while the other draws contrarian interest. These price gaps create arbitrage opportunities for sharp traders but also reflect genuine differences in how each community weights the same outcome.
Macro catalysts like Federal Reserve announcements, Bitcoin volatility, or major crypto regulatory news can shift Ethereum sentiment rapidly. Protocol updates, exchange outages, or large on-chain transactions may also trigger price swings. Intraday technical levels and options expiry can amplify moves during the four-hour window. Social media sentiment, derivatives liquidations, and competing altcoin performance are additional factors traders monitor. Even minor news can shift odds if the market is closely balanced.
