This market will resolve to "Up" if the Ethereum price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than or equal to the price at the beginning of that range. Otherwise, it will resolve to "Down". The resolution source for this market is information from Chainlink, specifically the ETH/USD data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/eth-usd. Please note that this market is about the price according to Chainlink data stream ETH/USD, not according to other sources or spot markets.

Prediction market odds often diverge from spot price technical analysis because they embed forward-looking sentiment and tail-risk premiums that traditional charting may not capture. While a trader might expect Ethereum to trade sideways based on recent volatility, this market's odds reflect the probability that price will cross a directional threshold during the specific event window. Comparing the implied probability here to analyst forecasts or on-chain metrics can reveal whether the crowd is pricing in event-driven catalysts or macro headwinds that spot traders are discounting.
On Polymarket, traders set the odds by buying and selling shares of each outcome—up or down—in an automated market maker pool. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the probability assigned by the collective order flow; as more capital flows into the up outcome, its price rises and the down price falls. This continuous repricing mechanism ensures that the market stays responsive to new information and trader conviction right up until the event window closes.
This market resolves around Jun 14, 2026, once the four-hour event window has closed and Ethereum's price movement can be verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by whether the spot price of ETH moved upward or downward from the opening level at 12:00 PM ET. Resolution occurs after sufficient time has passed for price data to be confirmed and aggregated from major exchanges, ensuring accuracy before payouts are distributed to winning traders.
Macroeconomic announcements, Federal Reserve communications, or major crypto regulatory news could shift trader conviction sharply in either direction. On-chain metrics such as large whale transactions, exchange inflows, or changes in staking activity may also influence short-term directional bias. Technical levels, options expiry, or volatility spikes in traditional markets can trigger cascading moves in Ethereum. Additionally, any platform-specific news or smart contract developments affecting the broader Ethereum ecosystem could reshape the probability distribution as traders reassess tail risks before the market closes.
