This market will resolve to "Up" if the Ethereum price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than or equal to the price at the beginning of that range. Otherwise, it will resolve to "Down". The resolution source for this market is information from Chainlink, specifically the ETH/USD data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/eth-usd. Please note that this market is about the price according to Chainlink data stream ETH/USD, not according to other sources or spot markets.
On Polymarket, Ethereum Up or Down - June 1, 8:00PM-12:00AM ET is priced as a binary outcome contract with two sides: Ethereum Up and Ethereum Down. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders buy shares representing their belief in either outcome, with prices ranging from 0 to 1 (or 0% to 100%). The current market probability reflects the aggregate of all trader positions and recent transactions. Prices adjust continuously as new orders flow in, and the cost to buy or sell shares depends on the current odds and order book depth. At resolution, winning shares pay out 1 unit of the settlement currency.
The Ethereum Up or Down - June 1, 8:00PM-12:00AM ET market resolves at Jun 2, 2026. The outcome is determined by comparing Ethereum's price at 12:00 AM ET on June 2nd to its price at 8:00 PM ET on June 1st. If the closing price is higher, the Up outcome wins; if lower, the Down outcome wins. Resolution timing is strict to the four-hour window specified, ensuring all traders operate under identical market conditions and clear settlement rules.
Several catalysts could drive Ethereum's price during the June 1st window. Major regulatory announcements, Federal Reserve statements, or macroeconomic data releases often trigger crypto volatility. On-chain activity, such as large whale transactions or staking changes, can shift sentiment. Technical levels and support/resistance zones matter for short-term moves. Bitcoin price action frequently leads Ethereum, so BTC momentum is critical. Market-wide risk-off events, exchange outages, or derivative liquidations can create sharp moves. Traders monitor social media, news feeds, and on-chain metrics closely during the four-hour window to anticipate directional shifts.
