This market will resolve to "Up" if the Ethereum price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than or equal to the price at the beginning of that range. Otherwise, it will resolve to "Down". The resolution source for this market is information from Chainlink, specifically the ETH/USD data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/eth-usd. Please note that this market is about the price according to Chainlink data stream ETH/USD, not according to other sources or spot markets.
Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect traders' collective belief about Ethereum's directional movement during that specific four-hour window. These odds often diverge from broader spot price sentiment because they isolate a narrow timeframe and require precise directional conviction. Spot market expectations, derived from technical analysis or analyst forecasts, may suggest longer-term trends that don't necessarily materialize within a single afternoon. The prediction market compresses uncertainty into a binary outcome, whereas spot expectations account for multiple scenarios. Comparing the two reveals whether traders believe near-term catalysts will override longer-term momentum or whether intraday volatility will be muted.
The market resolves on Jun 1, 2026. Resolution occurs after the four-hour trading window closes at 4:00PM ET on June 1st, 2026. The outcome is determined by comparing Ethereum's price at the start of the window (12:00PM ET) to its price at the end (4:00PM ET). If the closing price is higher than the opening price, the Up outcome wins; if lower, the Down outcome wins. The exact price source and any tie-breaking rules are specified in the market's terms. Traders should verify the official resolution criteria on Polymarket before placing positions.
Several catalysts could influence Ethereum's direction during that four-hour window. Major regulatory announcements, Federal Reserve statements, or macroeconomic data releases scheduled for June 1st could trigger sharp moves. Ethereum-specific news—such as protocol upgrades, exchange inflows or outflows, or large whale transactions—may shift sentiment. Bitcoin price action often leads altcoin movements, so BTC volatility during 12:00PM–4:00PM ET will be closely watched. Technical levels and support or resistance zones identified by traders can act as magnets for price action. Additionally, broader crypto market sentiment, derivatives liquidation cascades, or unexpected geopolitical events could accelerate movement in either direction.
