Frequently asked questions

The Ethereum price movement market dashboard on Polymarket tracks real-time odds and historical price data for the Ethereum price movement market during a specific four-hour window. Traders can monitor the current implied probability of ETH moving up or down, view the 24-hour volume of $5,052, and observe how sentiment has shifted since the market opened. The dashboard displays live order books, recent trades, and price history, giving participants a complete snapshot of market activity and positioning as the event window approaches and unfolds.

Prediction market odds reflect the collective belief of traders betting real capital on an outcome, often diverging from passive spot price forecasts or analyst consensus. While traditional price targets rely on fundamental analysis or historical patterns, this market aggregates live conviction from participants who profit or lose based on accuracy. The odds can shift rapidly in response to breaking news, on-chain activity, or macro sentiment, making them a dynamic gauge of near-term directional risk that complements but may differ from conventional market expectations.

On Polymarket, traders set the odds through an automated market maker or order-book mechanism, with prices ranging from 0 to 1 (or 0% to 100%) representing the probability of each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Buyers and sellers place limit or market orders, and the spread between bid and ask reflects liquidity and disagreement. As new information emerges or large trades execute, prices adjust in real time, ensuring the market continuously reprices risk and opportunity throughout the event window.

This market resolves around Jul 8, 2026, once the event window closes and the outcome is verifiable from credible public sources. The result will be confirmed by checking whether Ethereum's price moved up or down during the specified four-hour period, with the determination made against established market data. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the event end time, after which winning positions are credited and losing positions are settled.

Major catalysts include Ethereum network upgrades, regulatory announcements, macroeconomic data releases, Bitcoin price swings, and large on-chain transactions or whale movements. Market-wide events such as Federal Reserve statements, geopolitical developments, or shifts in risk appetite can also drive volatility. Additionally, technical levels, options expiry, or derivative liquidations may trigger sharp intraday moves. Traders monitor social sentiment, developer activity, and competing layer-2 adoption metrics as secondary signals that could influence conviction in either direction during the four-hour window.
