On Polymarket, traders buy and sell outcome shares in an automated market maker (AMM) pool, with prices determined by supply and demand. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current odds reflect the ratio of capital allocated to each side—if more traders are backing an up move, the price of that outcome rises, and vice versa. Traders can enter or exit positions continuously until the market closes, allowing prices to adjust in real time as new information emerges or sentiment shifts.
This market resolves around Jul 5, 2026, when the Ethereum price snapshot is taken at 7 AM ET. The outcome is determined by comparing ETH's price at that moment against its opening level for the period, with the result verified against credible public sources such as major exchange data feeds. Once the event is confirmed and the winning outcome is clear, the market settles and traders receive payouts proportional to their position size.
Major catalysts include Federal Reserve policy announcements, macroeconomic data releases, and developments in cryptocurrency regulation that shift risk appetite. On-chain metrics such as exchange inflows, whale transactions, and network activity can also influence short-term price direction. Technical levels, support and resistance zones, and broader Bitcoin momentum often drive Ethereum moves in tight timeframes. Unexpected news—security incidents, major partnerships, or shifts in institutional sentiment—can trigger sharp repricing in the final hours before the snapshot, making this market highly responsive to breaking information.
