This market will resolve to "Up" if the Ethereum price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than or equal to the price at the beginning of that range. Otherwise, it will resolve to "Down". The resolution source for this market is information from Chainlink, specifically the ETH/USD data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/eth-usd. Please note that this market is about the price according to Chainlink data stream ETH/USD, not according to other sources or spot markets.

Prediction market odds often diverge from spot price forecasts because they incorporate real money incentives and crowd intelligence. While traditional spot price analysis relies on technical or fundamental indicators, this market aggregates the beliefs of traders who profit or lose based on accuracy. The odds here reflect what informed participants actually expect to happen, rather than what analysts predict in isolation. This direct financial stake typically produces a more grounded baseline than sentiment-only surveys.
On Polymarket, traders set the odds by buying and selling shares representing each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the probability assigned to that outcome; as more traders buy "Up" or "Down," the odds shift to balance supply and demand. This continuous auction mechanism ensures the market price stays responsive to new information and trader conviction. Settlement occurs when the event window closes and the outcome is verified.
This market resolves around Jul 3, 2026, after the four-hour trading window concludes. The outcome is determined by whether Ethereum's price at the end of the window is higher or lower than its opening price at 8:00 AM ET on July 3. Once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting of spot prices, the winning outcome is confirmed and traders receive their payouts accordingly.
Major catalysts include macroeconomic announcements, Federal Reserve communications, or significant crypto-sector news released during the trading window. Bitcoin price movements often influence Ethereum directionally, so BTC volatility is a key watch point. Regulatory statements, exchange outages, or large on-chain transactions can also trigger sharp swings. Technical levels and support/resistance zones matter too; traders monitor these closely as the window approaches and unfolds.
