Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the Ethereum price movement market dashboard displays real-time odds for whether ETH will trade higher or lower by a specific snapshot time. The interface shows the current probability assigned to each outcome, along with historical price data and trading activity. This market reflects how traders are pricing Ethereum's directional movement, updated continuously as new positions are placed. The dashboard provides transparency into market sentiment and liquidity depth for this particular event.

Prediction market odds reveal what traders collectively expect will happen, whereas spot price reflects the current market valuation. This market aggregates forward-looking sentiment from participants willing to stake capital on their conviction. When odds diverge significantly from what analysts or on-chain metrics suggest, it often signals either mispricing or a shift in trader confidence. Comparing the two can highlight whether the market is pricing in upcoming volatility or consensus around a particular direction.

On Polymarket, traders set the odds through an automated market maker mechanism, where buying shares of one outcome automatically adjusts the price of the other. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each trade moves the probability curve, and the current odds reflect the last executed price. Liquidity providers can deposit capital to earn fees, while speculators buy or sell shares based on their conviction. The continuous pricing model ensures real-time discovery of the market's consensus on Ethereum's price direction.

This market resolves around Jul 3, 2026, at which point the outcome is confirmed based on verifiable public data about Ethereum's price at that specific time. The resolution hinges on whether ETH closes above or below a predetermined level, verified against credible market sources. Once the event passes and the price is established, the winning outcome is locked in and traders receive payouts proportional to their positions. No further trading occurs after resolution.

Major catalysts include regulatory announcements, macroeconomic shifts affecting risk appetite, Bitcoin price movements, and Ethereum-specific developments like network upgrades or large whale transactions. Market-wide events such as Federal Reserve decisions or geopolitical tensions can trigger sharp repricing. Technical levels and support/resistance zones may also influence trader positioning. On-chain metrics like exchange inflows or staking changes could signal accumulation or distribution, shifting odds as traders adjust their exposure ahead of the snapshot time.
