Frequently asked questions

The Ethereum price movement market dashboard on Polymarket tracks real-time odds and historical price data for the Ethereum price movement market during a specific four-hour window on July 2. The interface displays the current probability assigned by traders to whether Ethereum's price will move up or down within that timeframe, along with 24-hour trading volume and order book depth. This snapshot helps traders monitor how market sentiment is shifting as new information emerges and the resolution window approaches.

Prediction market odds reflect the collective belief of traders willing to stake capital on an outcome, whereas spot price expectations are often derived from technical analysis, analyst forecasts, or sentiment surveys. This market aggregates real money bets into a single probability, which can diverge from casual polling or social media sentiment. When odds on this market shift sharply, it often signals that informed traders have detected a catalyst or shift in conviction that traditional surveys may lag behind.

On Polymarket, traders set the odds by buying and selling shares that represent each outcome—up or down. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share fluctuates based on supply and demand, with the sum of all outcome prices always equaling one dollar. This continuous pricing mechanism means the market reflects the latest information in real time, and traders can enter or exit positions at any point before the resolution window closes on Jul 2, 2026.

This market resolves around Jul 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The four-hour observation window is fixed, and the final price movement is measured against established market data sources to determine whether Ethereum closed higher or lower than its opening price during that period. Traders holding winning shares receive their payout once verification is complete.

Major catalysts for this market include regulatory announcements, macroeconomic data releases, Bitcoin price swings, and significant on-chain activity or network upgrades. Unexpected news from major exchanges, changes in institutional adoption signals, or shifts in broader risk sentiment can all trigger sharp repricing in the hours leading up to the window. Technical levels and options expiry on other platforms may also influence intraday volatility and trader positioning.
