On Polymarket, traders set the odds by buying and selling binary outcome shares in an automated market maker. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each share in the yes outcome costs a fraction of a dollar, and the total value of all shares outstanding determines the implied probability. As more capital flows into yes or no, the price adjusts to reflect new consensus. Settlement occurs when the June 18 price is verified, and holders of the winning outcome receive their payout.
This market resolves around Jun 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once Ethereum's price on that date is verifiable from credible public sources. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive their payout, while losing shares expire worthless. The exact closing time and price reference point follow Polymarket's standard settlement procedures. Early traders can exit their positions at any time before resolution by selling shares at the prevailing market price.
Major catalysts include Federal Reserve policy announcements, macroeconomic data releases, and Ethereum network upgrades or security incidents. Regulatory news—particularly from the SEC or international authorities—often triggers sharp repricing. Bitcoin movements frequently correlate with Ethereum volatility, so BTC price action can shift odds significantly. Whale trades, exchange inflows or outflows, and derivative market positioning also influence sentiment. Broader crypto sentiment, stablecoin dynamics, and DeFi protocol developments round out the key drivers traders monitor heading into June 18.
