Resolves Oct 16, 2026

This set of markets will resolve based on the Ethereum price at a specific future timestamp, using a standardized benchmark for price verification. Each market has a different price threshold that must be met or exceeded for resolution.
All markets resolve based on the simple average of the sixty seconds of CF Benchmarks' Ethereum Real-Time Index (ERTI) immediately before 5 PM EDT on October 16, 2026. If this average exceeds the specified threshold for a given market (e.g., $1,500, $1,540, etc.), that market resolves to 'Yes'; otherwise, it resolves to 'No'. The official price is determined by collecting 60 ERTI prices during the final minute before expiration and averaging them. This methodology ensures consistency across all markets by using a single, authoritative data source rather than public exchanges, which may report varying values.
Currently, prediction market odds offer a distinct perspective compared to traditional spot price expectations for ETH. While spot prices reflect immediate market conditions, this market aggregates the beliefs of informed traders forecasting the price nearly two years in the future. This difference in time horizon often leads to divergence, as prediction markets incorporate expectations about future events, technological advancements, and regulatory changes that may impact Ethereum's value. It’s important to consider that prediction markets represent a forward-looking assessment, unlike the current snapshot provided by spot prices.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction, where traders buy and sell contracts representing different ETH price outcomes. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the market price converges towards a consensus view of the likely ETH price on the specified date. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows for real-time adjustments based on new information and changing sentiment, making it a valuable tool for gauging future expectations.
This market resolves around Oct 16, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the ETH price at 5pm EDT on October 16, 2026, is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on a widely recognized and trusted source for ETH pricing data, ensuring an objective and transparent determination of the market's outcome. Traders will then be paid out based on whether their predictions aligned with the actual ETH price at the specified time. The market's resolution provides a clear and definitive answer to the question of future ETH value.
Numerous signals and events could significantly move this market over the next two years. Major developments in Ethereum's technology, such as successful upgrades or unforeseen technical challenges, would likely have a substantial impact. Regulatory decisions regarding cryptocurrency, particularly in key jurisdictions, could also cause significant price fluctuations. Broader macroeconomic factors, like changes in interest rates or global economic growth, and the overall sentiment towards risk assets could also influence trading activity in this market. Unexpected news regarding the adoption of Ethereum by institutions or large corporations could also drive price movements.
