This market will resolve to "Up" if the official DAX Index closing price for DAX (DAX) on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 is higher than the official DAX Index closing price for DAX on the most recent prior trading day. This market will resolve to "Down" if the official DAX Index closing price for DAX (DAX) on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 is lower than the official DAX Index closing price for DAX on the most recent prior trading day. E.g., ordinarily, a market on Monday would refer to the previous Friday for its most recent closing price, unless that Friday were a market holiday, in which case it would refer to Thursday, or the next most recent trading day. If the two specified closing prices are exactly equal, this market will resolve 50-50. Note that all figures will be rounded to the nearest cent using standard rounding. If DAX does not trade at all during the regular session, the market will resolve 50-50. If either of the relevant days are shortened (for example, due to a market holiday schedule), the official closing price published by DAX Index for that shortened session will still be used for resolution. If either of the relevant days have no official closing price (for example, due to a trading halt into the market close, system issue, delisting, or other disruption), the market will use the last valid on-exchange trade price of the regular session as the effective closing price. The resolution source for this market is the Wall Street Journal, specifically the Close values published by the WSJ under "Historical Prices". Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts because they aggregate real-money bets rather than survey opinions. Traders on this market are financially incentivized to price in all available information, including late-breaking economic data and sentiment shifts that formal analyst reports may lag. While equity strategists and technical analysts publish DAX outlooks based on historical patterns and fundamental analysis, this market reflects live consensus from participants willing to stake capital on their conviction. Comparing the two can reveal where the crowd sees edge or where consensus may be overconfident.
On Polymarket, traders set the odds through an automated market maker that adjusts prices based on order flow and liquidity. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome—DAX Up or DAX Down—is represented as a separate contract, and the combined probability of both outcomes sums to 100 percent. As traders buy or sell shares, the price moves to reflect shifting expectations about the DAX's close. The platform charges a small fee on each trade, and prices remain transparent in real time, allowing you to enter or exit your position at any moment before the market resolves.
This market resolves around Jun 30, 2026, once the DAX's closing price for that date is finalized and verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by whether the DAX closes above or below its previous close, with no ambiguity in the underlying data. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive their payout automatically, while losing positions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of market close, allowing quick settlement and capital redeployment.
Major economic releases—including German inflation data, eurozone GDP revisions, and ECB policy signals—can shift DAX expectations sharply. Corporate earnings surprises from DAX constituents, geopolitical developments affecting European equities, and broader risk-on or risk-off sentiment in global markets will all influence trader positioning. Technical levels and momentum shifts in the index itself often trigger rebalancing. Additionally, changes in U.S. equity futures, bond yields, and currency moves (especially EUR/USD) can cascade into DAX trading. Monitoring financial news and economic calendars leading up to Jun 30, 2026 will help you anticipate volatility in this market.
