This market will resolve to "Up" if the official DAX Index closing price for DAX (DAX) on Monday, June 15, 2026 is higher than the official DAX Index closing price for DAX on the most recent prior trading day. This market will resolve to "Down" if the official DAX Index closing price for DAX (DAX) on Monday, June 15, 2026 is lower than the official DAX Index closing price for DAX on the most recent prior trading day. E.g., ordinarily, a market on Monday would refer to the previous Friday for its most recent closing price, unless that Friday were a market holiday, in which case it would refer to Thursday, or the next most recent trading day. If the two specified closing prices are exactly equal, this market will resolve 50-50. Note that all figures will be rounded to the nearest cent using standard rounding. If DAX does not trade at all during the regular session, the market will resolve 50-50. If either of the relevant days are shortened (for example, due to a market holiday schedule), the official closing price published by DAX Index for that shortened session will still be used for resolution. If either of the relevant days have no official closing price (for example, due to a trading halt into the market close, system issue, delisting, or other disruption), the market will use the last valid on-exchange trade price of the regular session as the effective closing price. The resolution source for this market is the Wall Street Journal, specifically the Close values published by the WSJ under "Historical Prices". Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts because they reflect real-money incentives and live market dynamics rather than static published opinions. While equity analysts issue target prices and directional calls based on fundamental research, this market prices in continuous updates from active traders responding to news, economic data, and intraday momentum. Comparing the two reveals whether professional consensus or crowd sentiment is more bullish or bearish on the DAX's near-term direction.
On Polymarket, traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome—DAX up or down—and the market price reflects the collective willingness to trade at any given moment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Shares are fractional, allowing precise position sizing, and the price of each outcome always sums to $1.00, making odds transparent and easy to compare. As new information emerges or sentiment shifts, traders adjust their positions, causing prices to move and updating the implied probability in real time.
This market resolves around Jun 15, 2026, once the DAX's closing level for that trading day is confirmed. The outcome is determined by whether the index finishes above or below its opening level, verified against credible public financial data sources. Traders holding the winning outcome receive their payout, while losing positions expire worthless, creating a binary settlement that rewards accurate directional calls.
Economic releases—especially eurozone inflation, employment, and PMI data—typically drive DAX volatility and shift market odds significantly. Central bank communications from the ECB, geopolitical developments, and earnings surprises from major DAX constituents can trigger sharp repricing. Overnight moves in US equity futures, currency fluctuations in the euro, and sector-specific news also influence trader positioning ahead of the June 15 close, making this market sensitive to both macro and company-level catalysts.
