Description

This market will resolve to "Up" if the official DAX Index closing price for DAX (DAX) on Monday, June 1, 2026 is higher than the official DAX Index closing price for DAX on the most recent prior trading day. This market will resolve to "Down" if the official DAX Index closing price for DAX (DAX) on Monday, June 1, 2026 is lower than the official DAX Index closing price for DAX on the most recent prior trading day. E.g., ordinarily, a market on Monday would refer to the previous Friday for its most recent closing price, unless that Friday were a market holiday, in which case it would refer to Thursday, or the next most recent trading day. If the two specified closing prices are exactly equal, this market will resolve 50-50. Note that all figures will be rounded to the nearest cent using standard rounding. If DAX does not trade at all during the regular session, the market will resolve 50-50. If either of the relevant days are shortened (for example, due to a market holiday schedule), the official closing price published by DAX Index for that shortened session will still be used for resolution. If either of the relevant days have no official closing price (for example, due to a trading halt into the market close, system issue, delisting, or other disruption), the market will use the last valid on-exchange trade price of the regular session as the effective closing price. The resolution source for this market is the Wall Street Journal, specifically the Close values published by the WSJ under "Historical Prices". Frequently asked questions

The dashboard on Polymarket tracks real-time odds and pricing for whether the DAX index will close up or down on June 1. It displays the current probability implied by trader positions, historical price movement, and 24-hour trading volume. You can monitor how sentiment shifts as new economic data, central bank signals, or market events emerge. The interface shows the live odds for each outcome, helping you understand what the prediction market crowd expects for DAX performance on that specific date.

Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect real-money trader conviction and often diverge from traditional analyst consensus. While equity strategists and technical analysts publish DAX forecasts based on earnings, economic calendars, and chart patterns, prediction markets aggregate dispersed information from thousands of participants with financial skin in the game. Comparing the market-implied probability to published analyst sentiment can reveal whether traders are more or less bullish than the consensus view, highlighting potential contrarian positioning or overlooked catalysts.

On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, the DAX outcome is priced as a binary contract where traders buy or sell shares representing Up or Down. The price of each share reflects the collective probability assigned by the market; a price of 0.65 implies a 65% chance of that outcome. Liquidity and order flow determine how quickly prices move in response to news. Traders can enter or exit positions continuously until market close on Jun 1, 2026, with final settlement determined by the index's actual closing direction.

Key catalysts include European economic data releases, ECB policy signals, corporate earnings surprises from major DAX constituents, and broader risk sentiment shifts. Geopolitical developments, energy prices, and currency movements can also influence German equities. U.S. economic reports or Federal Reserve commentary may trigger cross-Atlantic volatility. Earnings guidance from large-cap industrials and financials in the DAX could reshape trader expectations. Market participants monitor these signals continuously, adjusting positions as new information arrives and altering the implied probability of an up or down close.
