Description

This market will resolve to "Up" if the official DAX Index closing price for DAX (DAX) on Monday, July 6, 2026 is higher than the official DAX Index closing price for DAX on the most recent prior trading day. This market will resolve to "Down" if the official DAX Index closing price for DAX (DAX) on Monday, July 6, 2026 is lower than the official DAX Index closing price for DAX on the most recent prior trading day. E.g., ordinarily, a market on Monday would refer to the previous Friday for its most recent closing price, unless that Friday were a market holiday, in which case it would refer to Thursday, or the next most recent trading day. If the two specified closing prices are exactly equal, this market will resolve 50-50. Note that all figures will be rounded to the nearest cent using standard rounding. If DAX does not trade at all during the regular session, the market will resolve 50-50. If either of the relevant days are shortened (for example, due to a market holiday schedule), the official closing price published by DAX Index for that shortened session will still be used for resolution. If either of the relevant days have no official closing price (for example, due to a trading halt into the market close, system issue, delisting, or other disruption), the market will use the last valid on-exchange trade price of the regular session as the effective closing price. The resolution source for this market is the Wall Street Journal, specifically the Close values published by the WSJ under "Historical Prices". Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the DAX daily direction market dashboard tracks real-time odds on whether the German stock index will close higher or lower on July 6. The interface displays current bid-ask spreads, historical price movement, and trader activity for this binary outcome contract. You can monitor how market participants are pricing the probability of an up or down close, with live updates reflecting new trades and shifting sentiment throughout the trading day.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts because they reflect real-money incentives rather than consensus opinion. While financial analysts may issue directional calls based on technical or fundamental analysis, this market aggregates the collective judgment of traders betting actual capital on the outcome. Comparing the implied probability here to published analyst sentiment can reveal where the crowd sees opportunity or risk that mainstream research may have missed.

On Polymarket, traders set the odds through an automated market maker that balances buy and sell orders on each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each contract reflects the cumulative bets placed, with higher prices indicating stronger conviction that the DAX will move in that direction. Liquidity and trading volume influence how quickly prices adjust to new information or sentiment shifts.

This market resolves around Jul 6, 2026, once the trading day closes and the DAX's final direction is confirmed. The outcome is determined by whether the index finishes above or below its opening level on that date, verified against credible public sources reporting the official close. Your position settles based on which outcome occurred, with payouts distributed to holders of the winning contract.

Major economic data releases, central bank announcements, or geopolitical developments can shift DAX sentiment and move this market significantly. Corporate earnings surprises, currency fluctuations affecting German exporters, or broader European market trends may also influence trader positioning. Intraday volatility, sector rotation, and late-breaking news closer to the close can create sharp price swings as traders reassess the probability of an up or down finish.
