Description

This market will resolve to "Up" if the CL/USDT price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than the price at the beginning of that range. It will resolve to "Down" if the CL/USDT price at the end of the time range is lower than the price at the beginning of that range. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is Chainlink, specifically the CL/USDT data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/cl-usdt-markpriceindex-datalink?timeframe=1d&chart=candlestick To verify the final price, use the close price of the 5m candlestick just before the market's end time. For example, for a market running from 1:00 to 1:15 PM ET, use the close price of the 1:10 PM candlestick as the final price. The resolution source uses the index price (field i) from Binance's USDS-Margined Futures Mark Price Stream for All Markets (!markPrice@arr), denominated in the quote currency. This market is based solely on the price reported by the Chainlink CL/USDT data stream, not on other sources or futures markets. If Chainlink data is unavailable or otherwise unusable for resolution, the market will resolve based on a consensus of reliable sources. 2026-11-02T13:45:00Z

Currently, prediction market odds represent a distinct perspective compared to traditional analyst forecasts. While many analysts predict oil price fluctuations based on geopolitical factors and supply/demand models, this market reflects the collective judgment of individuals incentivized to make accurate predictions. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information access, biases, or simply varying interpretations of the same data. It’s common to see this market anticipate shifts before they are widely reflected in mainstream analyst reports, or conversely, to discount information that analysts deem significant. Examining these differences can provide a more nuanced understanding of potential price movements.

On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the crude oil price will move up or down. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, effectively creating a real-time probability assessment. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe the price will rise, the higher the price of the 'up' contract, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures the market reflects the most current collective intelligence. The market's price is determined solely by traders on Predict.

This market resolves around Nov 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on the change in the crude oil price during the specified time window of November 2, 8:45AM-9:00AM ET. A price increase during that period will result in a positive outcome, while a decrease will result in a negative outcome. The final price movement will be sourced from publicly available financial data, ensuring a transparent and verifiable resolution process. Traders will be able to see the final result reflected in their account balances shortly after verification.

Several factors could significantly impact this market before Nov 2, 2026. Unexpected geopolitical events, such as disruptions in major oil-producing regions, are key catalysts. Major economic data releases, particularly those related to global demand or inflation, could also shift sentiment. Furthermore, announcements from OPEC+ regarding production levels, or unexpected changes in inventory levels reported by the EIA, can create volatility. Even significant weather events impacting oil infrastructure could influence trading activity. Monitoring these signals will be crucial for anyone looking to understand potential price movements and adjust their positions in this market.
