Diana DeGette's performance in the 2026 CO-01 Democratic primary will be measured by her certified share of the popular vote. Resolution uses official results from Colorado election authorities, including all valid votes cast and any write-in votes that appear in certified tallies.
Resolution is based on Diana DeGette's certified percentage of valid votes cast in the 2026 CO-01 Democratic primary, calculated as (total votes received ÷ total valid votes cast) × 100. Each market resolves to Yes if the certified percentage meets or exceeds its specified threshold (30%, 35%, 40%, 45%, 50%, 55%, or 60%), inclusive. Resolution uses only certified/official results, not preliminary counts. Write-in votes are included if they appear in certified results; invalid, spoiled, or rejected ballots are excluded from both numerator and denominator. If multiple voting rounds occur (such as ranked choice voting), the percentage is based on the specified round or the first round if not specified. If the election is cancelled, postponed beyond market expiration, or no certified results are available by expiration, all markets resolve to No. If a recount changes the certified percentage before expiration, the most recent certified percentage is used for resolution.
Prediction market odds and traditional polling often diverge because they measure different things. Polls capture voter sentiment at a single moment, while this market aggregates real-money bets from traders who face financial consequences for inaccuracy. Markets typically incorporate polling data but also factor in fundraising, endorsements, turnout models, and late-breaking campaign developments. When this market's odds differ significantly from recent polls, it often signals that traders are pricing in information or dynamics that surveys have not yet fully captured. Comparing the two provides a richer picture of candidate viability.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where buyers and sellers submit bids and offers on the candidate's final vote share. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price reflects the collective belief of all active traders about where her vote percentage will land at resolution. As new information emerges—polling releases, campaign events, or shifts in voter sentiment—traders adjust their positions, moving the market price up or down. The spread between bid and ask prices indicates liquidity and trader confidence in the current level.
This market resolves around Jun 30, 2027, once the Colorado Democratic primary election has concluded and vote totals are finalized. The outcome will be confirmed against credible public reporting of official election results. Traders holding positions at resolution will be settled based on the actual vote share she receives. Until that date, the market remains open for trading, and prices may shift as new campaign developments, polling, and voter behavior emerge.
Several catalysts could shift this market significantly. Major polling releases showing gains or declines will often trigger immediate repricing. Endorsements from high-profile Democrats, media coverage, debate performances, and fundraising announcements can reshape trader expectations. Turnout models and demographic shifts in early voting or registration data may also influence odds. Campaign controversies, candidate withdrawals, or consolidation among rivals could redirect voter support. Grassroots momentum indicators and local news coverage in Colorado districts will be monitored closely by active traders seeking edges before the primary vote.
