The 2026 Cava De' Tirreni, Italy mayoral runoff election is currently scheduled to be held on June 7 and 8, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next mayor of Cava De' Tirreni as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. This market includes any potential second round. If the result of this election isn't known by April 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting; however, if there is any ambiguity in the results, this market will resolve according to official information from Cava De' Tirreni.
Prediction market odds on Polymarket often diverge from traditional polling because traders incorporate real-time information, campaign momentum, and insider knowledge that polls may lag. While polls measure voter sentiment at a single point in time, prediction markets reward accurate forecasts with financial incentives, creating continuous price discovery. For the Cava De' Tirreni mayoral race, comparing market-implied probabilities to recent local polls reveals whether traders expect a shift from current survey data. Markets typically react faster to breaking news, endorsements, or candidate gaffes than polls can capture.
On Polymarket, the Cava De' Tirreni Mayoral Election Winner market is priced through an automated market maker that sets odds based on the ratio of shares held for each candidate. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders buy YES or NO shares at prices between 0 and 1 cent, with the price reflecting the implied probability of that candidate winning. As traders buy and sell, the price adjusts to reflect new information and shifting expectations. The total volume of $15,103 shows cumulative interest, while 24-hour volume of $2,877 indicates current market activity and liquidity.
The market resolves on Jun 8, 2026, following the official mayoral election in Cava De' Tirreni. Resolution is determined by the official election results announced by local authorities. Traders holding shares in the winning candidate receive their payout, while losing positions expire worthless. The exact timing of resolution depends on when official results are certified and confirmed by the market's data source. Early or provisional results do not trigger resolution; only final, official outcomes count.
Key catalysts include candidate announcements, campaign events, local media coverage, endorsements from prominent figures, and shifts in voter sentiment. Scandals or gaffes involving frontrunners can trigger sharp price moves as traders reassess viability. Economic developments affecting the municipality, infrastructure decisions, or regional political shifts may also influence expectations. Polling releases or debate performances often spark trading activity as new information enters the market. As election day approaches, final polls and get-out-the-vote efforts typically drive increased volume and volatility in the market.
