This event tracks Bitcoin's price at a specific future moment, using a standardized index to determine the outcome. The resolution depends on where the price falls within predefined ranges at the exact time and date specified.
The event resolves based on the simple average of the sixty seconds of CF Benchmarks' Bitcoin Real-Time Index (BRTI) immediately before 5 PM EDT on September 11, 2026. Each market corresponds to a specific price range, and the market resolving to 'Yes' is the one where the calculated average falls within its defined bounds. If the average is below $69,000, the first market resolves to 'Yes'. If it is above $92,999.99, the final market resolves to 'Yes'. For all other cases, the market corresponding to the exact price range containing the average resolves to 'Yes', with the secondary clarification that while public sources like Google or Coinbase may be used for reference, the official price is determined exclusively by CF Benchmarks' BRTI, calculated from the average of 60 RTI prices collected in the final minute before expiration.
Currently, prediction market odds offer a unique perspective compared to traditional spot price expectations. While spot prices reflect the immediate value of Bitcoin, this market aggregates the beliefs of many traders regarding its value at a specific point in the future. Often, prediction markets can provide an early signal of shifts in sentiment that aren’t yet reflected in spot prices, as traders factor in potential events and news. This difference can be valuable for those seeking a forward-looking assessment of Bitcoin’s potential trajectory.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts corresponding to different Bitcoin price ranges, and the prices of these contracts fluctuate based on supply and demand. As more traders believe a particular price range is likely, the contracts for that range become more expensive, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism reflects the collective wisdom of the crowd and provides a real-time estimate of the probability of each outcome.
This market resolves around Sep 11, 2026, at 5:05 PM EDT. The outcome will be determined by the price of Bitcoin at that specific time, verified against credible public reporting. The market will pay out to the contracts corresponding to the price range that Bitcoin falls within at the resolution time. Traders holding winning contracts will receive a payout, while those holding losing contracts will forfeit their investment. The final price will be sourced from publicly available data feeds.
Several signals or events could significantly move this market. Major regulatory announcements concerning cryptocurrency, particularly Bitcoin, would likely have a substantial impact. Large-scale adoption by institutions or corporations, or conversely, negative news regarding the security or scalability of the Bitcoin network, could also drive price fluctuations. Macroeconomic factors, such as changes in interest rates or inflation, and geopolitical events could also influence investor sentiment and, therefore, the price of Bitcoin and this market. Unexpected technological advancements or setbacks in the broader crypto space are also potential catalysts.
