Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds reflect trader consensus on Bitcoin's direction and often diverge from spot price momentum alone. While spot markets react to immediate price action, this market aggregates forward-looking expectations across many participants, each risking capital on their conviction. Prediction odds can signal whether informed traders expect continuation, reversal, or consolidation—data that spot price alone does not capture. Comparing the two reveals whether the market is pricing in catalysts or sentiment that spot exchanges may not yet fully reflect.

On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current odds reflect the balance of buy and sell pressure; as more traders bet on one direction, the price of that outcome rises and the opposing outcome falls. This mechanism ensures prices stay responsive to new information and trader conviction, creating a real-time probability estimate that updates throughout the trading window.

This market resolves around Jul 9, 2026, at which point the outcome is confirmed once Bitcoin's price movement is verifiable from credible public sources. Traders who correctly predicted the direction receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. The resolution hinges on whether Bitcoin closes above or below its opening price on that date, measured against widely recognized price feeds. Early resolution is possible if the outcome becomes mathematically certain before the end date.

Major catalysts include Federal Reserve policy announcements, macroeconomic data releases, regulatory news affecting cryptocurrency, and large on-chain transactions or exchange flows. Bitcoin's correlation with equities and risk sentiment can amplify moves during market stress or rallies. Technical levels and options expiry dates may also trigger volatility. Geopolitical events, central bank digital currency developments, and institutional adoption news are additional wildcards that could shift trader positioning in this market before the resolution date arrives.
