Frequently asked questions

The Bitcoin price movement market dashboard on Predict tracks real-time odds and trading activity for the Bitcoin price movement market, showing whether traders expect BTC to move up or down by the specified date. The display includes current implied probabilities, $627,670 in recent trading volume, and a price history reflecting how sentiment has shifted as new information emerges. Prediction market odds reflect what traders collectively believe will happen, whereas spot price expectations are based on current market valuations and technical analysis. This market aggregates the views of many participants betting real capital on the outcome, which often incorporates forward-looking sentiment that spot prices alone may not capture. Comparing the two can reveal whether the broader trading community is more or less bullish than the prevailing on-chain and exchange data suggest.

On Predict, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the cumulative bids and asks from participants, with the implied probability derived from the current spread. As new trades execute, prices adjust in real time, ensuring that the market continuously reprices based on fresh information and shifting trader conviction.

This market resolves around Jul 3, 2026, at which point the outcome is determined by verifying Bitcoin's price movement against credible public sources. The resolution hinges on whether BTC closes above or below its opening level on that date, confirmed through widely recognized market data. Once the event is verifiable, the market settles and traders receive payouts based on their positions.

Major catalysts include regulatory announcements, macroeconomic data releases, shifts in institutional adoption, and statements from central banks or crypto-friendly policymakers. Technical levels and on-chain metrics such as exchange inflows, whale movements, and network activity can also influence trader positioning. Market-wide volatility, geopolitical developments, and competing asset class performance may sway sentiment closer to the resolution date, causing odds to shift significantly.
