This market will resolve to "Up" if the Bitcoin price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than or equal to the price at the beginning of that range. Otherwise, it will resolve to "Down". The resolution source for this market is information from Chainlink, specifically the BTC/USD data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/btc-usd. Please note that this market is about the price according to Chainlink data stream BTC/USD, not according to other sources or spot markets.
Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect trader consensus on Bitcoin's direction during that four-hour window, while spot price expectations come from technical analysis, analyst forecasts, and broader market sentiment. Prediction markets often incorporate forward-looking information that spot-price models may lag on, since traders have direct financial incentive to price outcomes accurately. If prediction odds diverge significantly from analyst consensus or technical levels, it may signal either market inefficiency or information asymmetry worth investigating further.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, this event is priced as a binary outcome: Bitcoin either moves up or down during the 4:00AM–8:00AM ET window on May 31st. Traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome, with prices ranging from 0 to 1 (or 0% to 100%). The current odds reflect the collective belief of all active traders. Liquidity and volume on Polymarket determine how easily you can enter or exit positions, and prices update continuously as new trades execute throughout the event window.
The market resolves after May 31, 2026, once the four-hour observation window closes and Bitcoin's price movement can be measured. The outcome is determined by comparing Bitcoin's price at the start of the window (4:00AM ET on May 31st) to its price at the end (8:00AM ET). Traders who correctly predicted the direction receive their winnings, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Resolution timing is strict to ensure fair and objective settlement based on actual price data.
Several catalysts could influence Bitcoin's direction during this window: macroeconomic data releases, Federal Reserve announcements, or major geopolitical developments overnight. Cryptocurrency-specific news—such as regulatory decisions, large exchange movements, or institutional trading activity—often drives intraday volatility. Market sentiment shifts triggered by traditional asset performance (stocks, bonds, USD strength) can also ripple into crypto markets. Technical levels and support/resistance zones may act as price anchors. Monitoring news flow and on-chain metrics in the hours leading up to 4:00AM ET will help inform your prediction.
