This market will resolve to "Up" if the Bitcoin price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than or equal to the price at the beginning of that range. Otherwise, it will resolve to "Down". The resolution source for this market is information from Chainlink, specifically the BTC/USD data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/btc-usd. Please note that this market is about the price according to Chainlink data stream BTC/USD, not according to other sources or spot markets.
On Polymarket, this event is priced as a binary contract where traders buy and sell shares representing either the Up or Down outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the market's collective belief in that outcome's probability, ranging from near 0 to near 1 (or 0% to 100%). Traders profit by buying low and selling high, or by holding until resolution. Polymarket uses an automated market maker model that continuously updates prices based on order flow, ensuring liquidity and transparent price discovery throughout the four-hour window on June 5th.
The market resolves at Jun 5, 2026 after the four-hour trading window closes at 12:00PM ET on June 5th. Resolution is determined by comparing Bitcoin's price at the end of the window to its price at the start of the window (8:00AM ET). If Bitcoin's price is higher at 12:00PM ET than at 8:00AM ET, the Up outcome wins. If the price is lower, the Down outcome wins. The exact settlement methodology and data source are specified in the market's official resolution criteria on Polymarket.
Several catalysts could drive Bitcoin's direction during that four-hour window. Major U.S. economic data releases (inflation reports, employment figures) often trigger sharp intraday moves. Regulatory announcements or statements from central banks can shift sentiment rapidly. Cryptocurrency-specific news—exchange hacks, large institutional transactions, or protocol updates—frequently impacts price. Technical levels and support/resistance zones established in prior trading sessions guide short-term momentum. Additionally, global market opens in Asia and Europe during that window may introduce volatility. Traders monitor these signals closely to adjust positions ahead of the resolution window.
