This market will resolve to "Up" if the Bitcoin price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than or equal to the price at the beginning of that range. Otherwise, it will resolve to "Down". The resolution source for this market is information from Chainlink, specifically the BTC/USD data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/btc-usd. Please note that this market is about the price according to Chainlink data stream BTC/USD, not according to other sources or spot markets.
Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect traders' collective expectations for Bitcoin's direction during the June 1st window, often diverging from spot price momentum alone. While spot markets react to immediate price action and technical levels, prediction markets incorporate longer-term sentiment, macro catalysts, and event-specific uncertainty. Comparing Polymarket odds to analyst forecasts and on-chain signals can reveal whether the market is pricing in consensus or contrarian views. Traders often use this gap to identify mispriced outcomes relative to fundamental or technical expectations.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, this event is priced as a binary outcome: Bitcoin either closes higher or lower at 4:00PM ET on June 1st compared to its opening level at 12:00PM ET. The contract price reflects the probability traders assign to each outcome, with buyers and sellers continuously adjusting bids and asks. Liquidity and volume on Polymarket determine how easily traders can enter or exit positions. The market price converges toward 100 cents (certainty) as the resolution window approaches and actual price data becomes known.
The market resolves at Jun 1, 2026. Resolution is determined by Bitcoin's price movement during the specified four-hour window on June 1st, from 12:00PM to 4:00PM ET. The outcome depends on whether Bitcoin's closing price at 4:00PM ET is higher or lower than its opening price at 12:00PM ET. Once the window closes and final price data is confirmed, the market settles automatically, paying out holders of the winning outcome and returning nothing to holders of the losing side.
Several catalysts could influence Bitcoin's direction during the June 1st window. Macroeconomic announcements, Federal Reserve communications, or inflation data released that morning could shift risk sentiment. Regulatory news or major corporate crypto announcements may trigger volatility. On-chain metrics, whale wallet movements, and technical support or resistance levels near the 12:00PM ET opening price will likely guide intraday momentum. Geopolitical developments and traditional market opens (equities, commodities) can also spill over into crypto trading, affecting the four-hour directional outcome.
