Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the Bitcoin price movement market dashboard displays real-time odds for whether Bitcoin will move up or down by the 6 PM ET deadline on July 4. The interface shows the current probability assigned to each outcome, along with historical price data and trading activity. Traders can monitor how sentiment shifts as new information emerges, giving a live snapshot of crowd expectations around this specific price direction event. The dashboard also reflects cumulative trading volume and recent transaction history, helping participants gauge market depth and conviction.

Prediction market odds reveal what traders collectively believe will happen, whereas spot price expectations reflect current market valuation and technical factors. This market aggregates thousands of individual forecasts into a single probability, often diverging from what traditional analysts or on-chain metrics suggest. When odds shift sharply, it signals new information or a change in trader conviction that may not yet be reflected in broader sentiment. Comparing the two helps identify whether the crowd is pricing in event risk that mainstream sources have overlooked or underweighted.

On Polymarket, traders set the odds by buying and selling shares representing each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the probability the crowd assigns to that outcome, with the two sides always summing to 100 percent. As new trades flow in, the automated market maker adjusts prices to balance supply and demand. This continuous repricing mechanism ensures the market stays responsive to breaking news, technical developments, or shifts in trader sentiment throughout the event window.

This market resolves around Jul 4, 2026, once the Bitcoin price movement can be verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing the closing price at the specified time to establish whether Bitcoin moved in the predicted direction. Resolution occurs after sufficient time has passed for data to be confirmed and any disputes to be addressed through the platform's standard verification process. Traders should monitor official price feeds and news sources as the deadline approaches to stay informed on final settlement.

Major catalysts include regulatory announcements, macroeconomic data releases, and statements from central banks or large institutional players. Technical levels and support or resistance zones can trigger algorithmic trading that shifts momentum. Geopolitical developments, changes in mining difficulty, or shifts in stablecoin liquidity may also influence Bitcoin's directional bias. Social media sentiment, whale wallet movements, and correlation with traditional markets like equities or commodities can accelerate price swings. Traders should watch for unexpected news or volatility spikes in the final hours before the market closes.
