Frequently asked questions

The Bitcoin price movement market dashboard on Polymarket tracks real-time odds and historical price data for this event, which runs from July 1, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM ET. Traders here are wagering on whether Bitcoin's price will move up or down during that four-hour window. The dashboard displays current implied probabilities, 24-hour trading volume, and order-book depth, giving you a live snapshot of how the market is pricing directional Bitcoin movement. This lets you compare crowd sentiment against your own spot-price expectations and monitor how conviction shifts as the event window approaches.

Prediction market odds reflect what traders collectively believe will happen, whereas spot price expectations are often anchored to technical analysis, news flow, or macro sentiment at a single point in time. In this market, the implied probability of Bitcoin moving up or down during the four-hour window can diverge from what analysts or on-chain metrics suggest, because traders are pricing in tail risk, volatility, and event-specific catalysts. Comparing the odds here to your own conviction about Bitcoin's near-term direction helps you identify whether the market is overpricing or underpricing the likelihood of a move in either direction.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker and order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome—Bitcoin up or Bitcoin down—fluctuates based on supply and demand, with the sum of all outcome prices equaling one dollar. As traders place bets, the implied probability of each outcome shifts in real time. Your position's value depends on which outcome resolves true, and you can exit early by selling your shares back into the market at the prevailing price.

This market resolves around Jul 1, 2026, once the four-hour trading window closes and Bitcoin's price movement can be verified. The outcome is determined by comparing Bitcoin's price at the start of the window (8:00 AM ET on July 1) to its price at the end (12:00 PM ET), with the result confirmed against credible public price sources. Whichever direction the price moved—up or down—determines which outcome is correct. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive their payout once resolution is final.

Major catalysts that could shift odds include macroeconomic data releases, Federal Reserve commentary, or significant crypto-sector news arriving before or during the four-hour window. Bitcoin's correlation with equity futures, volatility in altcoins, or large on-chain transactions could also influence trader conviction. Geopolitical developments, regulatory announcements, or technical breakouts in related markets may prompt rapid repricing. Additionally, as the event window approaches, time decay and gamma effects can amplify price sensitivity to intraday volatility, so watch for late-arriving information that traders haven't yet priced in.
