Frequently asked questions

The Bitcoin price movement market dashboard on Polymarket tracks real-time odds and historical price data for the Bitcoin price movement market during the specified four-hour window. Traders use this interface to view current implied probabilities for whether Bitcoin's price will move up or down, monitor 24-hour trading volume, and review past price movements to inform their positions. The dashboard displays live order books, recent trades, and aggregate liquidity across all active contracts tied to this event, giving participants a complete snapshot of market sentiment and trading activity.

Prediction market odds reflect what traders collectively believe will happen during the event window, while spot price expectations are based on current Bitcoin valuations and technical analysis. This market aggregates the views of thousands of participants who stake real capital on their forecasts, often capturing sentiment faster than traditional surveys or analyst consensus. When odds diverge significantly from what spot traders or on-chain metrics suggest, it can signal either an inefficiency or a genuine shift in near-term conviction that's worth monitoring.

On Polymarket, traders set the odds by buying and selling shares of each outcome through an automated market maker. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the cumulative demand for that outcome; as more capital flows into the up or down contract, its price rises and the opposing outcome's price falls. Settlement occurs when the event window closes and the outcome is verified, at which point winning shares are redeemed at full value and losing shares expire worthless.

This market resolves around Jul 2, 2026, once the four-hour trading window has closed and the outcome can be verified from credible public sources. The result is determined by comparing Bitcoin's price at the end of the window to its price at the start, establishing whether the net movement was up or down. Resolution is final once the outcome is confirmed and shares are settled according to Polymarket's standard procedures.

Major catalysts include Federal Reserve announcements, macroeconomic data releases, regulatory news affecting cryptocurrency, and significant moves in traditional equity or bond markets. On-chain metrics such as large wallet transfers, exchange inflows, or mining activity can also shift trader sentiment. Breaking news about Bitcoin adoption, geopolitical developments, or shifts in institutional positioning may trigger sharp repricing. Technical levels and support/resistance zones are closely watched by participants, and any breach could accelerate momentum in either direction during the window.
