This set of markets tracks different threshold levels for the AUDUSD exchange rate at a specific future moment. Each market will settle based on whether the rate at that time is above its respective threshold, providing a way to assess various potential values of the currency pair.
All markets resolve based on the AUDUSD exchange rate's opening candlestick value at 5pm ET on September 18, 2026, as published by Pyth. Each market has a specific threshold; if the rate is above that threshold at the specified time, the market resolves to Yes, otherwise to No. All rates are rounded to four decimal places. If Pyth data is unavailable at exactly 5pm ET, the most recent available value before that time will be used. Post-expiration revisions to the exchange rate do not affect the resolution. This structure applies uniformly across all threshold-based markets in this set.
Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts frequently rely on economic models and geopolitical assessments, this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd, representing a diverse range of opinions and information. It’s common to see discrepancies, particularly when unexpected events or ‘black swan’ scenarios are considered. Examining these differences can provide valuable insights into the range of possible outcomes and the level of uncertainty surrounding the AUDUSD price on Sep 18, 2026.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, meaning traders buy and sell contracts representing different price ranges for the AUDUSD. The prices of these contracts determine the implied probabilities. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the collective expectation of the AUDUSD price at the specified time. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust to changing conditions, offering a real-time assessment of potential outcomes.
This market resolves around Sep 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the AUDUSD price at 5:00 PM EDT on September 18th is verifiable from credible public reporting. The market will settle to the value of 100 minus the absolute difference between the final AUDUSD price and the midpoint of the contract ranges. This ensures a clear and objective determination of the winning contracts, based on publicly available data. Traders should monitor the closing price from a reputable financial data provider to understand the final settlement.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Major economic data releases from the United States or Australia, such as inflation reports, employment figures, or GDP growth, are likely to cause price fluctuations. Unexpected geopolitical events, shifts in central bank policy (like interest rate decisions from the Federal Reserve or the Reserve Bank of Australia), and even significant changes in global risk sentiment could all move this market. Any news that alters the perceived strength of either the US or Australian economy will likely impact trading activity and the implied probabilities.
