This set of markets tracks whether the Australian Dollar to US Dollar exchange rate will exceed specific thresholds at a precise moment in the future. Each market corresponds to a different threshold level, allowing participants to assess various potential outcomes for the currency pair's value at that exact time.
All markets resolve based on the opening candlestick value of the AUDUSD exchange rate published by Pyth at 5pm ET on September 11, 2026. For each market, if the rate at that specific time is above the stated threshold — ranging from 0.701 to 0.739 — the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Data will be rounded to four decimal places. If Pyth does not publish a value at the exact expiration time, the most recently available value before that time will be used. Any revisions to the exchange rate after the expiration time will not affect the resolution.
Comparing prediction market odds to analyst forecasts reveals how collective intelligence stacks up against expert opinion. Often, this market reflects a broader range of perspectives than traditional forecasts, potentially incorporating information not readily available to analysts. While analysts may offer point estimates, this market provides a probability distribution of potential outcomes for the AUDUSD exchange rate. Discrepancies between the two can highlight areas of disagreement or uncertainty, and may indicate where the market believes analysts are over- or underestimating the likelihood of specific scenarios.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, where traders buy and sell contracts representing different possible AUDUSD exchange rates. The price of each contract reflects the market’s assessment of the probability of that specific rate occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders adjust their bids and asks based on their own research, news events, and expectations, leading to a dynamic price discovery process. The more traders believe a particular rate is likely, the higher the price of the corresponding contract will climb, and vice versa.
This market resolves around Sep 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the AUDUSD exchange rate is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final price will be determined by the mid-price of the AUDUSD exchange rate at 5:00 PM EDT on September 11, 2026, as reported by a widely recognized financial data provider. This ensures a transparent and objective determination of the result, reflecting the actual market conditions at the specified time. Traders will then be paid out based on whether their predictions aligned with the resolved price.
Numerous economic and geopolitical signals could significantly move this market. Key indicators like interest rate decisions from the Reserve Bank of Australia or the Federal Reserve, inflation data releases, and changes in economic growth forecasts for both Australia and the United States are all potential catalysts. Unexpected political events, shifts in global risk sentiment, or major commodity price fluctuations could also influence the AUDUSD exchange rate. Furthermore, any news impacting trade relations between the two countries or significant shifts in investor confidence could drive substantial price movements in this market.
