This market will resolve to "Yes" if the official closing price for Apple Inc. (AAPL) on June 18 is higher than the listed price. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No." If the final session is shortened (for example, due to a market-holiday schedule), the official closing price published for that shortened session will still be used for resolution. If no official closing price is published for that session (for example, due to a trading halt into the close, system issue, delisting, or other disruption), the market will use the last valid on-exchange trade price of the regular session as the effective closing price. In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting the listed company during the listed time frame, this market will resolve based on split-adjusted prices as displayed on Yahoo Finance. The target price will be adjusted proportionally to reflect any stock splits. Resolution will be based on the historical price data as shown on Yahoo Finance after any adjustments have been applied. The resolution source for this market is Yahoo Finance, specifically the Apple Inc. (AAPL) "Close" prices available at https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/AAPL/history, published under "Historical Prices."

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst price targets because they reflect real-money incentives and collective trader sentiment rather than individual research calls. While Wall Street analysts publish formal forecasts based on fundamental analysis, this market aggregates the beliefs of traders who have financial skin in the game. Analysts may issue quarterly updates tied to earnings, whereas prediction markets adjust continuously as new information emerges. Both approaches offer value: analysts provide detailed reasoning, while prediction markets capture dynamic, crowd-sourced probability estimates. Comparing the two can reveal where consensus breaks down or where contrarian opportunities may exist.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that sets odds based on the ratio of shares held in each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders buy and sell YES or NO shares, and the price of each reflects the implied probability of Apple closing above the threshold by the deadline. As more capital flows into one side, the price adjusts automatically to rebalance supply and demand. The current odds shown on the dashboard represent the real-time consensus price, updated with every trade. Liquidity and trading volume directly influence how quickly prices respond to new information.
This market resolves around Jun 18, 2026, once Apple's official closing price for that trading day is confirmed. The outcome is determined by whether the stock closes above or below the specified price level, verified against credible public sources such as financial data providers or official exchange records. Traders holding winning shares receive their payout automatically once the resolution is finalized. The exact closing price is objective and verifiable, eliminating ambiguity about which outcome prevails. Resolution typically occurs within hours of market close on the event date.
Apple earnings announcements, product launches, macroeconomic data, and changes in interest rates or tech sector sentiment can all shift trader expectations and move odds in this market. Regulatory news, competitive developments, or shifts in consumer demand may also influence the stock's trajectory. Broader market volatility, Fed policy signals, or geopolitical events affecting supply chains can create sudden repricing. Insider trading disclosures, analyst upgrades or downgrades, and technical chart patterns often trigger trader activity. Any material news about Apple's business, guidance, or the overall equity market can cause rapid probability swings as traders adjust their positions ahead of the June 18 close.
