Description

This market will resolve to "Yes" if the Close price for Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN) on July 8, 2026 is higher than the listed price. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No." If the two specified prices are exactly equal, this market will resolve to "No". Closing prices will be used exactly as published by Pyth, without rounding. If Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN) does not trade at all during the regular session, the market will resolve 50-50. For a standard full trading session, the closing price refers to the Pyth "Close" value of the 1-minute candle corresponding to the final minute of regular trading hours on the primary exchange. If the specified day has no valid Pyth Close value for the 1-minute candle corresponding to the end of regular trading hours on the primary exchange, the market will use the last valid Pyth price achieved during the regular trading hours of the primary exchange as the effective closing price. If no valid Pyth price exists for that trading day due to a system outage, data failure, or other technical disruption, the official closing price published by the primary exchange on which the listed security trades will be used to determine the closing price for that day. If the listed date is not a trading day under the applicable trading-hours schedule as listed on Pyth, this market will resolve 50-50. In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting the listed security during the listed time frame, this market will resolve based on split-adjusted prices as displayed on Pyth. The target price will be adjusted proportionally to reflect any stock splits. Resolution will be based on the historical price data as shown on Pyth after any adjustments have been applied. The resolution source for this market will be Pyth, specifically the "Close" values for the relevant 1-minute candle available at https://pythdata.app/explore/Equity.US.AMZN%2FUSD.

Frequently asked questions

The Amazon stock price market dashboard on Polymarket tracks real-time odds and historical price movements for whether AMZN will close above a specified threshold on July 8. Traders buy and sell shares representing yes or no outcomes, with the current odds reflecting the collective assessment of market participants. The dashboard displays the latest trading activity, allowing you to monitor how sentiment around this event evolves. This live pricing mechanism lets you see exactly what the crowd believes about Amazon's stock performance on that date.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst price targets because they aggregate real-money bets from a broad set of traders rather than relying on a handful of institutional forecasters. Analysts typically publish quarterly or annual outlooks with longer time horizons, whereas this market focuses on a single closing price on a specific date. Market-based odds can react faster to breaking news and earnings surprises, while analyst consensus may lag. Comparing the two reveals whether professional equity researchers and active traders align on near-term Amazon stock direction.

On Polymarket, traders set the odds through an automated market maker that adjusts prices based on order flow and liquidity. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each share represents a claim on the outcome, and the price reflects the probability implied by recent trades. As more capital flows into yes or no positions, the odds shift accordingly. This continuous pricing mechanism ensures that the market reflects up-to-the-minute sentiment about whether Amazon will close above the target price on the settlement date.

This market resolves around Jul 8, 2026, once Amazon's official closing price for that day is available. The outcome is determined by comparing AMZN's closing price to the specified threshold and verified against credible public sources such as financial data providers or official exchange records. Once the event is confirmed, the market settles automatically, with yes-share holders receiving their payout if the price closes above the target, and no-share holders receiving theirs if it closes at or below.

Earnings announcements, macroeconomic data releases, and shifts in tech sector sentiment can all drive significant moves in this market. Regulatory news, competitive developments, or changes in cloud computing demand may influence trader expectations about Amazon's near-term stock performance. Broader market volatility, interest rate decisions, and shifts in investor risk appetite also play a role. Real-time news flow and options market activity often precede or accompany price swings, making this an active venue for traders seeking exposure to Amazon's stock direction on a specific date.
