Description

This market will resolve to "Yes" if the official closing price for Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN) on July 7 is higher than the listed price. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No." If the final session is shortened (for example, due to a market-holiday schedule), the official closing price published for that shortened session will still be used for resolution. If no official closing price is published for that session (for example, due to a trading halt into the close, system issue, delisting, or other disruption), the market will use the last valid on-exchange trade price of the regular session as the effective closing price. In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting the listed company during the listed time frame, this market will resolve based on split-adjusted prices as displayed on Yahoo Finance. The target price will be adjusted proportionally to reflect any stock splits. Resolution will be based on the historical price data as shown on Yahoo Finance after any adjustments have been applied. The resolution source for this market is Yahoo Finance, specifically the Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN) "Close" prices available at https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/AMZN/history, published under "Historical Prices."

Frequently asked questions

The Amazon stock price market dashboard on Polymarket tracks real-time odds and historical price movements for whether AMZN will close above a specified threshold on July 7. Traders here are wagering on the stock's closing price on that date, and the interface displays current implied probability, recent trading activity, and cumulative volume. This market reflects live consensus from participants betting on Amazon's intraday performance, updated continuously as new trades execute. The dashboard gives you a snapshot of market sentiment around the company's stock valuation at market close on the target date.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst price targets because they aggregate real-money bets from diverse traders rather than relying on a single research team's model. Analysts typically publish quarterly or annual forecasts based on fundamental analysis, while this market prices in live sentiment, recent earnings surprises, macroeconomic shifts, and intraday volatility. Comparing the implied probability here to consensus analyst estimates can reveal whether the crowd expects Amazon to outperform or underperform published guidance. Both signals matter: analysts bring deep research, while markets reflect distributed information and genuine financial incentives.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader orders into real-time odds. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Participants buy or sell shares representing "yes" (Amazon closes above the threshold) or "no" (it does not), and the price of each share reflects the current probability implied by the order book. As more traders bet one direction, the price shifts to balance supply and demand. The market's price discovery mechanism ensures that new information—earnings reports, sector news, or macroeconomic data—gets reflected quickly in the odds.

This market resolves around Jul 7, 2026, once Amazon's official closing price for that trading day is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by whether the stock price closes above or below the specified threshold at market close. No further trading occurs after the resolution window opens, and payouts are distributed based on the final verified price. Traders holding winning shares receive their payout automatically.

Major catalysts include Amazon's earnings announcements, changes to AWS revenue guidance, shifts in e-commerce growth forecasts, and broader tech sector movements. Macroeconomic data—inflation reports, Federal Reserve policy signals, and consumer spending trends—can also swing sentiment. Competitive developments, regulatory news, or management commentary on profitability and capital allocation may trigger sharp repricing. Intraday volatility on July 7 itself, driven by market-wide momentum or last-minute news, could push the stock across the threshold. Traders monitor all these signals to adjust their positions before the market closes.
