Opinion
This market will resolve to "Yes" if the official "Close" price for Amazon (AMZN) on the trading day specified in the title is strictly higher than the price specified in the title. A "Close" exactly equal to the specified price resolves to "No". If the market is not open on the specified day (exchange holiday or unscheduled closure), or Amazon (AMZN) does not trade at all during that day's regular session, this market resolves 50-50 — each side is paid at half value; this is not a refund. In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting Amazon (AMZN), this market resolves on split-adjusted prices, and the price specified in the title is adjusted proportionally. The resolution source for this market is Yahoo Finance, specifically the Amazon (AMZN) "Close" prices available at https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/AMZN/ under "Historical Prices". If that data is unavailable due to an outage or other technical disruption, the official price published by the primary exchange on which Amazon (AMZN) trades governs.

Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts may base their predictions on financial models and company reports, this market incorporates a broader range of information and collective intelligence. Discrepancies can arise from factors such as differing risk assessments, the inclusion of non-public information by traders, or simply a varied interpretation of available data. It’s common to see this market react more quickly to news and events than analyst ratings, providing a potentially more real-time assessment of Amazon’s prospects.
On Opinion, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether Amazon’s stock will be above its current value by September 28, 2026. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, effectively creating a probability distribution. On Opinion, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe the stock will be above the specified price, the higher the contract price will climb, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing reflects the aggregated wisdom of the crowd participating on Opinion.
This market resolves around Sep 28, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on the closing price of Amazon’s stock on that date. If the closing price is above the current value, the ‘yes’ contracts will pay out; otherwise, the ‘no’ contracts will. The final determination will rely on publicly available financial data and established market reporting standards, ensuring a transparent and objective outcome for this market.
Several signals and events could significantly impact this market. Major announcements from Amazon regarding earnings, new product launches, or strategic partnerships would likely cause price fluctuations. Broader economic indicators, such as inflation rates, interest rate changes, and overall market sentiment, could also play a role. Unexpected news related to key competitors, regulatory changes affecting the tech industry, or significant shifts in consumer behavior could all move this market. Any event that materially alters the perceived future prospects of Amazon is likely to influence trading activity and contract prices.
