Voters in Alaska's congressional primary will cast their ballots for various candidates, and the final certified results will determine whether Nick Begich achieves a significant share of the votes. The outcome hinges on the total percentage of valid votes he receives compared to all other candidates.
The market resolves based on the certified percentage of the popular vote received by Nick Begich in the Alaska at-large congressional district primary. If the percentage falls within any of the specified ranges (35% to 100%, 40% to 100%, 45% to 100%, 50% to 100%, 55% to 100%, or 60% to 100%), the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. The percentage is calculated as the total votes Begich receives divided by the total valid votes cast, multiplied by 100 and rounded to the specified decimal places. Resolution depends solely on certified or official results. Write-in votes are included if present in certified results, while invalid, spoiled, or rejected ballots are excluded from both the numerator and denominator. If the election involves multiple rounds of voting, such as ranked-choice voting, the percentage is based on the specified round or the first round if unspecified. Should the election be cancelled, postponed beyond the market expiration, or lack certified results by the expiration date, the market resolves to No. Any recount altering the certified percentage before expiration will use the most recent certified percentage for resolution.
On Kalshi, this market reflects trader expectations for the Begich vote percent, which may diverge from traditional polling averages. Prediction markets often incorporate factors beyond voter intent, such as campaign momentum and strategic voting patterns. While polls provide a snapshot of public opinion, this market aggregates real-money bets that can react more quickly to emerging trends. The difference between the two can highlight where quantitative models see opportunity versus where polls capture stated preferences. Monitoring both can offer a fuller view of how the race might unfold.
On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s probability reflects not just polling data but also campaign dynamics, fundraising status, and any notable events influencing voter preferences in the Alaska at-large congressional district primary.
This market resolves around Aug 18, 2027, with the outcome confirmed once the vote count is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final percentage of votes received by the candidate will settle the market, bringing closure to trader positions based on the official election results.
