This market tracks which politician will be officially designated as the National Rally party's candidate for France's 2027 presidential election. On Polymarket, Jordan Bardella is the leading outcome at 72.0%, while Marine Le Pen stands at 28.5%. Resolution will be determined by official National Rally party announcements or, if no announcement is made, the official candidate list released for the first round of voting. Watch for the party's formal candidate announcement ahead of the April 2027 French presidential election.
The next French presidential election is currently expected to be held in April 2027. This market will resolve according to the first individual publicly announced as the chosen candidate of the National Rally (Rassemblement National, RN) party for the 2027 French presidential election. A qualifying announcement must explicitly identify the relevant individual as the National Rally Party’s candidate for the 2027 French presidential election. If the National Rally party simultaneously announces multiple individuals as its candidates for the 2027 French presidential election, this market will resolve to “Multiple Candidates”. If no qualifying announcement is made by the time the official candidate list for the first round of the 2027 French presidential election is released, this market will resolve to the National Rally candidate included on that list. If multiple National Rally candidates are included on that list, this market will resolve to “Multiple Candidates”. If no National Rally candidate is included on that list, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the National Rally party; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
The market resolves on Apr 23, 2027, coinciding with the conclusion of the National Rally's candidate selection process for the 2027 presidential election. Resolution hinges on whether Jordan Bardella is officially designated as the party's nominee. The outcome will be determined by the National Rally's internal decision-making procedures, which may involve party leadership votes, member ballots, or other formal nomination mechanisms. Once the party makes its official announcement, the market will settle based on whether Bardella is confirmed as the candidate, with no ambiguity regarding the final determination.
Key catalysts include public statements from National Rally leadership regarding candidate preferences, internal party polling or member surveys, Bardella's own positioning and visibility, rival candidates' announcements or withdrawals, and broader French political developments affecting his viability. Scandals, policy shifts, or changes in his public approval could shift trader expectations. Party congresses, leadership meetings, or media coverage of succession dynamics may trigger significant price moves. International or domestic crises could alter perceptions of his electability. As the nomination date approaches, clarity on the party's formal process and timeline will likely intensify trading activity and narrow the probability range.
