This market will resolve according to the winner of the 2026 Wisconsin gubernatorial election. A candidate shall be considered to represent a party in the event that he or she is the nominee of the party in question. Candidates other than the Democratic or Republican nominee (e.g., Greens, Libertarian, independent) may be added at a later date. Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party. The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on the official certification.

Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional polling averages. While polls aim to capture a snapshot of current voter sentiment, this market aggregates the informed opinions of individuals who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to factors like polling methodology, sample bias, and the ability of market participants to incorporate a wider range of information, including fundraising data, candidate performance, and broader political trends. It's important to consider both sources of information when forming an overall assessment.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of each contract reflects the collective belief of the participants regarding the probability of that outcome occurring. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market price dynamically adjusts based on supply and demand, meaning that if more people believe a particular candidate will win, the price of that outcome will increase. This creates a constantly updated forecast of the election's likely result based on the wisdom of the crowd.
This market resolves around Nov 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official results reported by election authorities for the Wisconsin Governor election. The candidate who receives the most votes will be declared the winner, and that outcome will determine the settlement of this market. Traders holding contracts on the winning outcome will receive a payout, while those holding contracts on losing outcomes will not.
Several factors could significantly impact this market between now and Nov 4, 2026. Major events like candidate debates, significant endorsements, and unexpected economic news could all shift voter sentiment and, consequently, market prices. Polling data releases will also be closely watched, as will any major campaign gaffes or scandals. Changes in national political trends or unforeseen events affecting the state of Wisconsin could also play a role in influencing the market's direction. Any information that alters perceptions of the candidates’ chances of winning has the potential to move this market.
