Description

This group asks whether MarketAxess (MKTX) will report quarterly earnings per share (EPS) above the consensus estimate of $2.03 as of the market creation date. Resolution depends on the official earnings report, with SeekingAlpha as a backup source if official data is unavailable. The markets specify handling of IFRS vs. GAAP EPS and rounding rules.

PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Unified Resolution Criteria (Consistent across platforms)

Both platforms utilize identical resolution logic, sources, and edge case handling, ensuring consistent market behavior.Primary resolution logic: MarketAxess official earnings documents

Core resolution logic:

  • Resolution is based on MarketAxess's reported GAAP EPS for the relevant quarter.
  • The market resolves to 'Yes' if GAAP EPS exceeds $2.03.
  • The market resolves to 'No' if GAAP EPS is less than or equal to $2.03.
  • IFRS EPS will be treated as GAAP EPS.
  • Diluted GAAP EPS is preferred; basic GAAP EPS will be used if diluted is unavailable.
  • All figures are rounded to the nearest cent.

Edge cases & clarifications:

  • No GAAP EPS Reported: If MarketAxess does not report GAAP EPS, the market will resolve based on the GAAP EPS figure reported by SeekingAlpha. If SeekingAlpha doesn't publish a figure within 96 hours of market close on the earnings announcement day, the market resolves to 'No'.
  • Earnings Release Delay: If MarketAxess does not release earnings within 45 calendar days of the estimated earnings date (October 21, 2026), the market resolves to 'No'.
  • Obvious Errors: Subsequent restatements are ignored unless they are obvious and immediate mistakes (e.g., 'fat finger' errors).
Timing: Resolution will occur after MarketAxess releases its quarterly earnings report, and within 96 hours if SeekingAlpha is needed as a backup source. Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Polymarket

As of market creation, MarketAxess is estimated to release earnings on October 21, 2026. The Street consensus estimate for MarketAxess's GAAP EPS for the relevant quarter is $2.03 as of market creation. This market will resolve to "Yes" if MarketAxess reports GAAP EPS greater than $2.03 for the relevant quarter in its next quarterly earnings release. Otherwise, it will resolve to "No." The resolution source will be the GAAP EPS listed in the company’s official earnings documents. If MarketAxess releases earnings without GAAP EPS, then the market will resolve according to the GAAP EPS figure reported by SeekingAlpha. If the company does not release earnings within 45 calendar days of the estimated earnings date, this market will resolve to “No.” Note: Subsequent restatements, corrections, or revisions made to the initially announced GAAP EPS figure will not qualify for resolution, except in the case of obvious and immediate mistakes (e.g., fat finger errors, as with Lyft's (LYFT) earnings release in February 2024). Note: The strike prices used in these markets reflect the selected street consensus estimate for GAAP EPS as of market creation. Note: All figures will be rounded to the nearest cent using standard rounding. Note: For the purposes of this market, IFRS EPS will be treated as GAAP EPS. Note: GAAP EPS refers to diluted GAAP EPS, unless this is not published, in which case it refers to basic GAAP EPS. Note: All figures are expressed in USD, unless otherwise indicated. Note: For primarily internationally listed companies, this market refers specifically to the shares traded in the United States on U.S. stock exchanges such as the NYSE or Nasdaq. In cases where the company trades in the U.S. through an American Depositary Receipt (ADR) or American Depositary Share (ADS), this market will refer to the ADR/ADS.
