PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Unified Resolution Criteria (Consistent across platforms)

Core resolution logic:

  • A 'Yes' resolution requires an explicit, unambiguous announcement of intent to run for the 2028 U.S. Presidential election
  • Conditional statements, jokes, or non-committal remarks do not qualify as valid announcements
  • Resolution is based on consensus of credible news reporting and official statements from the candidate
Timing: Markets resolve by December 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET based on whether an announcement occurred before that dateOur PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. Polymarket

This market will resolve to “Yes” if the listed individual officially announces that they are running for U.S. President in the 2028 United States presidential election by December 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. An announcement by the listed individual will be sufficient to trigger a "Yes" resolution, regardless of whether they actually filed a nomination to run, or whether they actually file a nomination to run in the future. A qualifying announcement must be explicit and unambiguous. Conditional statements, or statements that are clearly sarcastic, made in jest, or immediately clarified as not being genuine will not count. The primary resolution source for this market will be official statements by the listed individual (ex: via speech, social media, etc.), however a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Kalshi

An ambassador confirmation is determined by whether Kari Lake becomes the first person confirmed to the position before specified deadline dates. Confirmation occurs through the standard Senate confirmation process. If a nomination is withdrawn before the applicable deadline, the associated market immediately resolves to No. The event tracks confirmation status across three separate deadline windows: before September 1, 2026; before January 1, 2027; and before April 1, 2027.

On Polymarket and Kalshi, prices may vary due to differences in user bases, liquidity, and market design. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. For example, one platform might attract more politically engaged traders who react swiftly to news, while the other could reflect broader public interest. This can result in Polymarket showing 94.0% for Will Matt Gaetz announce a presidential run before 2028?, and Kalshi leaning toward Will Kari Lake be confirmed as Ambassador to Jamaica before Apr 1, 2027? at 77.0%. Such spreads of 17.0 are normal in politically charged markets with evolving dynamics.

This market resolves around Jan 1, 2028, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Any major political figure officially declaring their candidacy through press conferences, social media, or party filings before the deadline will trigger a settlement. The process relies on widely reported, authoritative sources to confirm whether an announcement has occurred, ensuring transparency and fairness for all participants.

Several signals could shift probabilities in this market, including high-profile speeches, fundraising announcements, endorsements from influential figures, or major polls showing rising support for potential candidates. Media coverage and social media trends also play a key role, as they can amplify or dampen momentum. Any unexpected developments—such as scandals, policy shifts, or changes in campaign strategy—may cause rapid repricing, especially as the Jan 1, 2028 deadline approaches and traders assess who is most likely to enter the race.
