An "↑" market resolves to "Yes" if the official daily "High" for SPY (SPY) is at or above the price specified in the market at any point inside the window; an "↓" market resolves to "Yes" if the official daily "Low" is at or below the specified price. Boundary touches count. Markets whose level is never reached before the deadline resolve "No". In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting SPY (SPY), these markets resolve on split-adjusted prices, and the price specified in each market is adjusted proportionally. The resolution source for this market is Yahoo Finance, specifically the SPY (SPY) daily price data available at https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/SPY/. If that data is unavailable due to an outage or other technical disruption, the official price published by the primary exchange on which SPY (SPY) trades governs.

Comparing prediction market odds to analyst forecasts reveals interesting insights into collective intelligence. Generally, prediction markets often outperform traditional polls and expert opinions, as they incentivize accurate forecasting through financial rewards. While analysts may offer reasoned arguments based on economic models, this market aggregates the wisdom of many individuals, potentially capturing a broader range of factors and unforeseen events. It’s important to note that analyst forecasts are often point estimates, while this market represents a probability distribution of possible outcomes, offering a more nuanced view.
On Opinion, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing different price levels for the SPY in October 2026. The current price reflects the point at which traders are equally willing to buy or sell. On Opinion, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price changes dynamically based on supply and demand, effectively representing the market's consensus expectation. Higher demand for contracts at a specific price pushes that price up, while increased selling pressure lowers it. This creates a real-time assessment of potential SPY values.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome determined by the closing price of the SPY ETF on the trading day nearest to that date. The final price will be verified against credible public reporting from established financial data providers. Traders will then be paid out based on whether their predictions aligned with the actual SPY price at resolution. This allows for a clear and objective determination of the market’s outcome, based on publicly available financial data.
Several signals or events could significantly move this market. Major macroeconomic announcements, such as changes in interest rates or inflation data, could impact investor sentiment and shift expectations for the SPY. Unexpected geopolitical events, shifts in corporate earnings, and significant regulatory changes could also play a role. Furthermore, broader market trends, like a bull or bear market cycle, will influence trading activity and the implied price. Any news that alters the perceived risk or growth potential of the US economy and its companies could cause substantial movement in this market.
