An "↑" market resolves to "Yes" if the official daily "High" for Amazon (AMZN) is at or above the price specified in the market at any point inside the window; an "↓" market resolves to "Yes" if the official daily "Low" is at or below the specified price. Boundary touches count. Markets whose level is never reached before the deadline resolve "No". In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting Amazon (AMZN), these markets resolve on split-adjusted prices, and the price specified in each market is adjusted proportionally. The resolution source for this market is Yahoo Finance, specifically the Amazon (AMZN) daily price data available at https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/AMZN/. If that data is unavailable due to an outage or other technical disruption, the official price published by the primary exchange on which Amazon (AMZN) trades governs.

Currently, prediction market participants, through this market, are expressing their collective view on where Amazon’s stock price will be in late 2026. This differs from traditional analyst forecasts, which are often based on financial modeling and company reports. While analysts may provide a range of price targets, this market provides a real-money incentive for participants to accurately predict the outcome, potentially leading to a more accurate assessment of future price movements. It's important to note that both approaches have their strengths and weaknesses when forecasting financial markets.
On Opinion, this market is priced using a continuous double auction, meaning traders can buy and sell contracts representing different Amazon stock prices. The price of each contract reflects the market’s collective belief about the probability of Amazon reaching that price level by the specified date. On Opinion, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who are willing to buy a contract, the higher its price will rise, indicating increased confidence in that outcome. Conversely, increased selling pressure will lower the price. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust its predictions.
This market resolves around Oct 9, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the closing price of Amazon (AMZN) stock during the week of October 5, 2026, will be used to determine which contracts pay out. The market will determine the price level closest to the actual closing price, and those who predicted that outcome will receive a payout. The exact payout amount will depend on the contract’s price at the time of resolution.
Several factors could significantly influence this market between now and Oct 9, 2026. Major announcements from Amazon regarding earnings, new product launches, or strategic partnerships would likely cause price fluctuations. Broader economic trends, such as changes in interest rates or overall market sentiment, could also play a role. Unexpected geopolitical events or shifts in consumer spending habits could also impact Amazon’s stock price and, consequently, this market. Any news that alters investor perceptions of Amazon’s future growth prospects will likely be reflected in trading activity.
