An "↑" market resolves to "Yes" if the official daily "High" for Amazon (AMZN) is at or above the price specified in the market at any point inside the window; an "↓" market resolves to "Yes" if the official daily "Low" is at or below the specified price. Boundary touches count. Markets whose level is never reached before the deadline resolve "No". In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting Amazon (AMZN), these markets resolve on split-adjusted prices, and the price specified in each market is adjusted proportionally. The resolution source for this market is Yahoo Finance, specifically the Amazon (AMZN) daily price data available at https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/AMZN/. If that data is unavailable due to an outage or other technical disruption, the official price published by the primary exchange on which Amazon (AMZN) trades governs.

Currently, prediction markets often offer a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts typically provide a single point estimate or a range, this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd, reflecting a distribution of beliefs about Amazon’s potential stock price. This can lead to a more nuanced and potentially more accurate forecast, as it incorporates diverse viewpoints and reacts quickly to new information. It’s important to remember that both approaches have their strengths and weaknesses, and comparing them can provide a more comprehensive understanding of the potential outcomes.
On Opinion, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing different Amazon stock prices. The price of each contract reflects the probability of Amazon reaching that price level by the resolution date. On Opinion, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This means the market price is determined entirely by supply and demand from traders on Opinion, and can shift rapidly based on new information or changes in sentiment. The more traders believe a particular price is likely, the higher its contract price will be.
This market resolves around Oct 16, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the closing price of Amazon (AMZN) stock on the Friday of that week will be used to determine the winning price point. The market will settle based on this publicly available data, ensuring a transparent and objective outcome. Traders will then be paid out based on whether their chosen price contract correctly predicts the final stock price.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Major economic reports, such as inflation data or GDP growth figures, could influence investor sentiment towards Amazon and its stock price. Company-specific news, including earnings reports, product launches, or changes in leadership, would also be key catalysts. Unexpected geopolitical events or shifts in the broader technology sector could also move the market. Any news that alters perceptions of Amazon’s future growth prospects or profitability has the potential to cause significant price fluctuations in this market.
