This set of markets tracks potential movements in the USD to Norwegian Krone exchange rate at a specific future moment. Each market assesses whether the rate will surpass a particular threshold, allowing participants to speculate on currency strength dynamics without predicting exact values.
All markets resolve based on the USDNOK exchange rate's opening candlestick value at 5pm ET on October 23, 2026, as published by Pyth. Each market has a unique threshold; if the rate exceeds its specified level at that exact time, the market resolves to Yes, otherwise to No. Data revisions after expiration are disregarded, and values are rounded to four decimal places. If Pyth lacks data at 5pm ET, the most recent available value before that time is used for resolution.
Currently, it's valuable to consider how the implied probability from this market compares to forecasts from financial analysts. Do analysts predict the USDNOK exchange rate will be above 9.393 on October 23rd? If so, is their confidence level higher or lower than what’s reflected in the current trading on Kalshi? Discrepancies between prediction market prices and expert opinions can highlight potential mispricings or differing perspectives on the future direction of the USDNOK exchange rate.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the USDNOK exchange rate. The price of a contract reflects the probability of the event occurring – in this case, the USDNOK rate being above 9.393 at the specified time. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders adjust their bids and asks based on new information, economic indicators, and their own analysis, driving the price towards a consensus view. The current price reflects the collective wisdom of those participating in the market.
This market resolves around Oct 23, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the USDNOK exchange rate at 5:00 PM EDT on October 23rd is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final price will be determined by whether the exchange rate is above or below 9.393 at that specific moment. Traders holding contracts predicting the rate will be above 9.393 will receive a payout if the rate meets that condition, while those holding contracts predicting it will be below will receive a payout if the rate is lower.
Several factors could significantly influence this market before Oct 23, 2026. Major economic data releases from the United States or Norway, such as inflation reports, GDP figures, or employment numbers, could impact the USDNOK exchange rate. Unexpected geopolitical events or shifts in global risk sentiment could also trigger movements. Furthermore, announcements from the Federal Reserve or Norges Bank regarding monetary policy, including interest rate decisions, are likely to be key catalysts. Any news affecting the relative strength of the US dollar or the Norwegian krone has the potential to move this market.
