This set of markets tracks the performance of the USD to MXN exchange rate at a specific future date and time. Each market has a different threshold value, and the outcome depends on whether the exchange rate exceeds that threshold at the specified moment.
All markets resolve based on the USDMXN exchange rate's opening candlestick value at 5pm ET on October 9, 2026, as published by Pyth. For each market, if the rate is above the specified threshold at that exact time, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. The resolution uses the most recent available data from Pyth if no value is published at the exact time, and revisions made after the expiration time are disregarded. All rates are rounded to four decimal places for resolution purposes.
Currently, prediction market odds represent a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts for the USDMXN exchange rate. While analysts often provide point estimates or ranges, this market aggregates the collective wisdom of many traders, expressing uncertainty as probabilities across a spectrum of possible outcomes. It’s common to see discrepancies, as markets react to information and news flow in real-time, potentially anticipating shifts before they are reflected in standard analyst reports. This dynamic can offer a unique signal for those following the USDMXN exchange rate.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction mechanism, where traders submit buy and sell orders for contracts representing different outcomes for the USDMXN exchange rate. The current price of a contract reflects the market’s assessment of the probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate predictions, as profitable trades are rewarded. The more traders participate, the more efficiently the market reflects available information about the USDMXN exchange rate.
This market resolves around Oct 9, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official USDMXN exchange rate at 5:00 PM EDT on October 9th is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final price will be determined by the mid-price of the USDMXN exchange rate at that specific time, as reported by a recognized financial data provider. Traders will then be paid out based on whether their predictions aligned with the actual exchange rate at the resolution time.
Several factors could significantly influence this market before Oct 9, 2026. Major economic data releases from the United States or Mexico, such as inflation reports, GDP figures, or employment numbers, are likely to cause volatility. Unexpected policy announcements from the Federal Reserve or Banco de México could also shift expectations for the USDMXN exchange rate. Geopolitical events or shifts in global risk sentiment could also play a role, as these often impact currency valuations. Monitoring these signals will be key to understanding potential movements in this market.
